1. I know a few of you expressed interest in coming to see Calamity Jane. Does anyone still want to come? If anyone does, I can provide a variety of sofabeds for the night! For (a little) more info, the society's website is here, with ticket prices and performance times detailed on the booking form at the bottom in the middle. I can get tickets for you if you decide you want to come. :-)

2. I've just done a cut of my flist, for a variety of reasons, though mostly because our interests (and/or fandoms) have diverged since I friended you, especially if you post a lot because that just means there's stuff on my flist that I keep skipping over. Others I've unfriended because you don't seem to be around any more. Any queries, you can mail me at unfeathered72@gmail.com.

(Now, if I could just find a way to filter out all the multiple-chapter fic posts, I'd be *really* happy... *g*)

1. Had a really good day yesterday. Both Jack and I had had enough sleep for once, so we both a lot less stressed and a lot more relaxed and we had a really nice time together - and I finally stopped panicking about next week when Andy's away for ten days in Texas/Mexico.

2. Also been doing and reading some fabulous role-playing. Whoville has come alive again. And I've had some really interesting threads - Buffy/Romana (they really bonded), Jack/8 year-old Doctor (very interesting), Simm!Master/Delgado!Master (fascinating for both of them!), and now Spike/Ten.

3. Shame I'm back at work this afternoon and all day tomorrow and Friday. I've been really enjoying my RP! Still, I'm hoping to get on with Master Plan again, since I seem to actually have my brain back at last. :-)

4. At least I don't have to be at rehearsal till half an hour later than usual tonight, so I'll have a little bit more time for tagging before I go than I usually do.

5. Oh, also, yesterday Jack watched his first bit of Doctor Who. [livejournal.com profile] _medley_ had sent me a link to a bit of "Mind of Evil" on YouTube (because we're playing Master/Master) and Jack was fascinated. He won't ever let us watch any of our stuff on the telly while he's around, but if it's on the computer, he's fascinated. He sat through about 15 minutes of the thing - which is interseting, because we can now tell him his first Doctor was Jon Pertwee... *g*

6. Any typos in this post are due to the fact I'm typing it with Jack on my lap doing drawing...

...I got the part of Grandma in Fiddler on the Roof. It's really only a tiny part - just for the one song - but it's going to be huge fun. And, well, my first time playing a Grandma!

I also get to be chorus for the rest of it, so it's pretty much exactly what I wanted. First rehearsal on Wednesday, because Monday is a Bank Holiday.

Andy's off to the computer shop he helps out at in Clacton today, so it's just me and Jack, but we're going to pretty much laze around the house and garden, I think, so I'll be at my computer (or at least near it) most of the day.

Tomorrow it's going to rain but we might try and get to the funfair that's on in town this weekend. And Monday, my Nana's coming down to my brother's house (because she can't do stairs and he's the only with a downstairs loo) for her birthday party. She'll be 96, and there'll be me, Andy, Jack, Mum, Dad, my brother and his wife, their two big dogs, my cousin and her husband and two of her three sons, who are just a few years older than Jack so he should have a whale of a time! Shame it looks like it's going to rain, though. :-(

No results yet. There were a lot of people auditioning and it went on a bit (finished about 10.35) so they're going to ring people rather than making them wait around this evening while they discussed the casting.

However, I strongly suspect I may be getting the part of Grandma. Dead Grandma back from the grave in a dream - sings a couple of pages of song and that's it. I suspect this because I was the only person to audition for the part.

Which. Would be different. I've never played a Grandma before! I've never really had a comedy part before either, but I'm getting to the stage where I'm that much more confident in my acting and I want a character part, something with a bit of meat to it.

Well, we'll see. I'm really not bothered either way. I'm totally happy just being chorus.

What else? Um, I finished up editing the Giles & Nine fic which I'd left at work last week and sent it back off to Jades (so Jades, if you didn't get it, let me know!) and brainstormed very briefly (because that was all that was needed) with Alex on the Master/Doctor fic, which I hope to finish editing at work tomorrow.

I think that's all. Will be off to bed fairly soon, 'cos I'm tired.

I will be at work this afternoon and all day tomorrow and Friday, so the usual stuff applies - I won't be here or on IJ, but I will be available for chatting on unfeathered72@gmail.com if anyone wants me, and I do love to hear from people! I've also finally got round to switching all my IJ and LJ accounts to that address so I'll get comments there, even if I won't be able to reply to them.

Auditions tonight )
And the fact that it's auditions tonight means it could be really late by the time I get back. I'll probably still be around for a little bit, but obviously I'll have to get up early tomorrow so I can't afford to be too late to bed - especially since I'm still really tired, even after a 1 1/2 hour nap yesterday and a decent night's sleep last night.

[livejournal.com profile] becky_writing has written me an absolutely gorgeous fic for Sweet Charity. It's heart-rending and beautiful and hot and moving and - well, just go and read it and tell her how much it rocks.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 has written a lovely review of Godspell (and the trials and tribulations of trying to navigate around Braintree *g*) and included the one and only picture we actually took over the weekend - fortunately, it's a really nice one!

For those who can't be bothered to visit Jades' review, and who want to know what we look like, here's the photo:

We had a fabulous time! [livejournal.com profile] smithy161, [livejournal.com profile] hellenebright and I had time for a cuppa and play with Jack before heading up to Braintree to meet [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 for dinner. We had a lovely meal and a great chat and it all went far too quickly!

The show went really, really well and then [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 had to leave but we got a picture of all four of us before she went, which hopefully she'll be posting at some point! The rest of us stayed for one drink then came home, singing loudly to Queen, then had some wine and more chat and watched Doctor Who - it was really great watching together! By 1.00 am, we'd all calmed down enough to go to bed, and I think we actually got a fairly decent night, and Jack slept through till about 8.00, though I did my usual waking up about 6.30. So I'm knackered and will be going back to bed for a bit soon, when Jack's finished his roll and his Teletubbies. :-)

Anyway, a wonderful time was had and we so have to do more of these meet-ups!

Godspell went really well last night - we had a packed house and we all really enjoyed it and didn't want to come off-stage at the end. Goodness knows what we're going to be like tonight!

Just posting, really, to warn people I won't be around much until some unknown time tomorrow. [livejournal.com profile] smithy161 is arriving in Chelmsford at 2.22 (hopefully, buses being what they are) and [livejournal.com profile] hellenebright should be arriving some time after that. Then the three of us are meeting [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 in Braintree for a meal before going on to the theatre. After the show, we'll probably hang around at the after show party for a bit and then Jades is going back to her mum's while the rest of us come back here. And then Smithy and Helen will be going home at some point on Sunday.

So. We may pop in to say hi at some point, but that'll be it. :-)

And now, I'm going to answer my RP threads and then go and start cleaning up!

The show didn't go so well tonight. I mean, it went fine, just I got in a bit of a kerfuffle early on and then just couldn't settle down and enjoy it, mainly because I don't actually get to go offstage until the interval, so I didn't have the opportunity to just go and close my eyes and take a few deep breaths and start again. It wasn't anything major (just that I'm supposed to take my necklace off to 'offer at the altar' and I'd stupidly put my radio-mic on after the beads tonight so they wouldn't come off because there was a lead in the way!) and the audience just thought it was funny and weren't aware that we skipped a few lines, but it just threw me. And then I forgot my words in my song (again, I covered, and none of the cast even realised, but I knew).

So I'm a bit shaky and numb and muzzy and probably ought to be going straight to bed, but I need to get my brain off dwelling over those silly little things, so I'll stay and play over at Whoville for a bit first.

And I'm sure I'll concentrate on the show a lot better tomorrow! :-)

Godspell went really well again (a couple of minor mishaps but nothing noticeable to the audience and neither were my fault) and I really, really enjoyed it. I am going to cry like mad when it finishes on Saturday. (Just warning those of you who'll be near me! *g*)

Anyway. IJ is still down and apparently going to be for another 24-48 hours, which is ridiculously annoying since I'm off work all week and getting rid of Jack to Mum's for tomorrow afternoon and most of Thursday and Friday and was really hoping to let rip over at Whoville.

However. If I can't RP, I shall write instead. If I can just find my writing brain.

To that end - prompts please? Preferably things I can fit in a drabble, because I have enough full-length fics on the go or planned, thank you very much! Porny prompts are good, Buffyverse or Whoverse (or both) is fine, challenging prompts are great, just get me writing again, please! :-)

I just got (virtual) red roses from [livejournal.com profile] mad_jaks for my first night!

Thank you so much, sweetie - they're lovely! :-)

(And what's up with IJ, everyone? How long has it been down?)

It went REALLY WELL.

There was a great atmosphere, a little over half-full house, my song went the best it's ever gone (including the top A), my mum was all overwhelmed when she greeted me at the end (because it's by far the best thing I've ever had a big part in and she was all proud of me), and Andy enjoyed it despite not expecting to and said I handled my mic well! :-)

And I really, really, enjoyed it. I am on such a high right now. God knows when I'll calm down enough to go to bed!

Well, second technical rehearsal and dress rehearsal went well yesterday and when we finally got the house lights off and the stage lights on it really started to feel like a proper performance. I'm really excited about tonight, though rather nervous too, because it seems to have come round so fast - and because I have Mum and Andy coming to see it tonight! I think I'll make them come later in the week next time!

Also have loads to get through today, but that's probably good, because it'll keep me going and not dwelling too much. Just have to make sure I don't get stressed about how much I've got to do!

Godspell opens on Monday. So I'm going to be absent a bit more than usual and just thought I'd post my intended schedule so people know when to expect me to be here.

Oh, and those people who said they were coming to see Godspell on Saturday - are you still coming?

Well, I'm home. Rehearsal went really well - I really enjoyed it and it went well. And dinner at Mum's was okay too, though I was flagging by then. But when I got home and had to put Jack to bed (and I may still have to go up and change him again - we've only had two changes so far) - aargh, it was hard finding the energy for that! And he made me cry when he lashed out in a tantrum, which I think shocked him a bit! *g*

So. I'm going to have a quick look at the second round of beta suggestions for my Angel/Jack fic (though I won't work on them till tomorrow), then go and watch the end of last night's I'd Do Anything (I was too tired last night to get through it all!) and tonight's results show, and then I'm going to go to bed.

I should be about a bit more tomorrow!

I have a busy weekend ahead. Tomorrow I have Godspell rehearsal from 10.30 am till 5.30 pm!!!!!!!!!! Which is going to be exhausting, though at least I get to go round Mum's for dinner, because she's having Jack for the last couple of hours as Andy will be going to London to see Jean Michel Jarre. But then I'll have to do all the putting Jack to bed and umpteen nappy changes by myself. So I really don't expect to be online very much at all tomorrow!

Cut for length )

So. Busy busy busy. Oh, and I'm trying not to have a cold. My throat is killing me.

If anyone's interested in coming to see me in Godspell on Saturday 19 April, [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 has very kindly volunteered to co-ordinate getting together so people can actually meet each other! Her post is here.

If you can't make that day but still want to come, it's on for the whole week.

I can put people up if they need it (and give lifts from Chelmsford to Braintree and back). We don't actually have a spare room as such, but we have a sofa and a lot of floor in the living/dining room, so if you don't mind roughing it, could be a laugh! :-)

Didn't want to post about it too early, but it does look like it's actually happening now so hopefully I'm safe!

We have a buyer. She wouldn't go about the asking price (even though we had it as 'offers over') but she is in rented accommodation so NO CHAIN. And the seller of the house we want (the townhouse) won't go below his asking price, because it's a divorce thing and they need every penny they can to get two properties, even flats, out of that money, but he is pretty much packed and ready to go. And because his house is pretty cheap for the size, and in the lower stamp duty bracket, we're still making a decent amount of money on the deal that we can use to make the house into what we want.

So, can't complain.

Our buyer wants to be out of her rented place by the end of April. Which means we'll probably be moving a couple of weeks after Godspell. Not great timing, but I guess I should be grateful it's not before Godspell!

And speaking of Godspell, tickets are now available so can people who expressed an interest in coming to see it have a think about if they really do want to and what day? We can put people up overnight - it'll only be the sofa or floor, I'm afraid - but we'd love to have you. :-)

I don't have the email with the prices on here, 'cos I'm at work, but they're about £6.50 to £7.50 I think. And the dates are 14-19 April.

ETA: My flist has gone mad overnight! May take me a while to catch up!

...is in the comments of Becky's post of doom, to help with her attempt to get to 5,000 comments. It's not particularly exciting, but if you want to find it (and I might want to later, hence the links) it's here. Oh, and another little bit here.

Oh, and my early morning post about how awful I felt, was here.

And someday when I have lots of free time, I'm going to go in and read all the really interesting threads in Becky's post that I've missed!

And I'm going to bed. I don't know how I've managed to stay awake this long!
