Unfeathered Notes

I've been indulging myself with a post-Christmas break from real life, re-reading some of my old fics (beginning with Master Plan, because I got a comment that the summary was uninspiring, so I had to go and read it all again in order to come up with a more enticing summary!) and prodding at some old ones.

And I found this one almost ready to go, although of course I then re-wrote about half of it. It's... a little bitter-sweet.

Author's Note: A little something I found in my unfinished fics folder, begun two years ago, a few weeks after my husband told me he was leaving. The phrase 'nothing lasts forever' was ringing through my brain, and it morphed into this.

1. More has been nominated for a Children of Time Award! Thank you to whoever nominated it! I have to admit, I'm overwhelmed by the response to that one. Yes, I know it's Jack/Ianto and therefore going to be popular (though I did wonder if the Jack/Doctor element would put some of them off) and that I've started posting to torchwood_fic so I'm getting more responses anyway, but... yeah. It's really nice. :-)
