We have a buyer for our house! Plus Godspell stuff

Didn't want to post about it too early, but it does look like it's actually happening now so hopefully I'm safe!

We have a buyer. She wouldn't go about the asking price (even though we had it as 'offers over') but she is in rented accommodation so NO CHAIN. And the seller of the house we want (the townhouse) won't go below his asking price, because it's a divorce thing and they need every penny they can to get two properties, even flats, out of that money, but he is pretty much packed and ready to go. And because his house is pretty cheap for the size, and in the lower stamp duty bracket, we're still making a decent amount of money on the deal that we can use to make the house into what we want.

So, can't complain.

Our buyer wants to be out of her rented place by the end of April. Which means we'll probably be moving a couple of weeks after Godspell. Not great timing, but I guess I should be grateful it's not before Godspell!

And speaking of Godspell, tickets are now available so can people who expressed an interest in coming to see it have a think about if they really do want to and what day? We can put people up overnight - it'll only be the sofa or floor, I'm afraid - but we'd love to have you. :-)

I don't have the email with the prices on here, 'cos I'm at work, but they're about £6.50 to £7.50 I think. And the dates are 14-19 April.

ETA: My flist has gone mad overnight! May take me a while to catch up!

*g* Well, someone's obviously interested! Afaik, though, the £5.50 is only for OAPs or groups of 10 or over... *g*

And they've just come to turn my computer off at work, as we're moving office over the weekend. Will be back online this afternoon, though, as I'm taking the afternoon off becuase there's simply no blooming work to do here without the computer!

That's such great news! What's the house you're buying like?

I'm going to look into the feasibility of getting to Godspell - why is it so easy to get up and down the country and so hard to get across it? There just aren't the roads...*grumble grumble*

It's a town house, so a LOT more floorspace than our current 3 bed semi. Plus we'd want to add a utility room along the side of the ground floor, because it's the end of the terrace. Footpath running alongside to the main road, another nearby to the village green, shops (small Co-op, butchers, petshop & hairdressers) about 3 minutes' walk away, bigger Co-op about 10 mins' walk away, primary school about 5 minutes' walk away, plus several good pubs and restaurants in the village.

Really couldn't be much better. :-)

Re. Godspell, surely it's pretty much just down the M40, round the M25, then up the A12? 2 hours, Multimap tells me.

That'd be great :) Unless I take days off work, it'd have to be the Saturday for me (it's about a 2 hour drive and I'm not sure I can manage a 4 hour round trip in one evening), so let's see what we can do! I'll also have the car, probably, for potential lift-giving, if people are brave enough to risk my driving.

I'm going to check dates and stuff with he-who-holds-the-diary and see what I can do!

There is a bus to Chelmsford from Lakeside, though. I know that much. First Bus, no. 100.
