I recorded this the other day because it was a) Amy Acker and b) ballet - my mum used to teach ballet and folk dance so I grew up with ballet and have seen umpteen productions of The Nutcracker by our local ballet company over the years. (I also did ballet myself until I had Jack, 16 years ago.)
While it wasn't the best movie ever, Amy Acker was as adorable as ever. She also turned out to be a pretty darned good ballet dancer, which wasn't something I ever knew she could do, although obviously she's always had that grace and elegance (and skinniness) and as soon as you think about it it's not really surprising that she's done ballet. But honestly, she was 39 when she made this film, which is really pretty old to be dancing a lead role, and she looked really convincing as a prima ballerina! Nice chemistry too with Sascha Radetsky. So yeah, not great, but very enjoyable, and Christmassy! :-)
