Unfeathered Notes

Signup for intoabar completed! I haven't done much fic writing over the last year, and not a hell of a lot RP either as multiple health issues and personal issues have drained a lot of my energy. But the medical issues at least are mostly sorted now and I'm feeling an awful lot better, and anyway there's no way I could pass up Intoabar!

After much deliberation, I decided to go with the easy option this year and plumped for Giles as my main character.

The four fandoms from which the character he'll meet will be drawn:
1. New Who
2. Sarah Jane Adventures
3. Fawlty Towers
4. WandaVision

A very eclectic mix, but all the more fun for it! Also, if I don't end up with Wanda (who's so incredibly similar to Willow that that pairing kind of HAS to be done!) or someone from Fawlty Towers (Ripper in 1970s Torquay, anyone?), I may just have to write those at some point anyway... (Well, I could use one or other for summer_of_giles instead)

I've been dithering over my sign-up, because I had this idea to choose Jean-Luc Picard as my main character, because we've been watching ST: The Next Gen and ST: Picard S1 (to remind ourselves what happened before we venture into S2) and so for the first time I thought I'd try writing a Star Trek character. Then I kept getting cold feet and putting off signing up. But now I've done it. After all, the worst that can happen is that I don't post a fic!

I've elminated Torchwood from the possible choice of fandoms he'll venture into, because I've ended up with TW characters the last two times. I added SJA this time instead. Looking forward to seeing who I get, now!

I just signed up for round ten at wintercompanion. I've been thinking more about doing some proper writing again, now that my role-playing has dwindled considerably due to no longer being in a game, just doing the odd meme. A lot of that has been down to the fact that my life has been absolutely chock-full for the last couple of years since I became secretary of my drama group, but that role is coming to an end in a couple of weeks and also the show we were going to do in October has had to be cancelled due to lack of interest and being unable to cast it, so... at least until November, when we start for the next show, I actually have several months ahead with a great big hole in them! And obviously, I'm not just going to sit down and have a break like I probably ought to, because I am terrible at sitting around and doing nothing. But the drama is something I do for me, and if I haven't got that, I'm going to fill that time with something else that I do just for me, something I enjoy and haven't given enough time to for far too long.

So. I really do think I ought to be able to produce 500 words of Doctor/Jack fic by 24 July, oughtn't I?

And then maybe I'll have the time to go back to Master Plan and finally finish that off, and perhaps a couple of other fics that have been sitting there *almost* finished for about ten years...
