Got my [community profile] intoabar fic finished just in time, after having added a whole new part to it last night! It's not beta'd and not as polished as it would once have been, but these days I'm just happy to have finished something I'm pleased with and got it posted by the deadline!!

Also? This is my first time ever writing Star Trek, so I'm rather pleased with that too!

Okay, I got my assignment for who Picard is going to be running into in a bar and it's... Clara Oswald.

Which is pretty awesome. I am NOT a big Clara fan, but I've written her before for an exchange so at least I know I can. And I have at least three options for how she could be running into Picard in the 24th century: a) she's travelling with the Doctor, b) she's travelling in her own TARDIS with Me or c) she's a Clara!splinter.

To be honest, all three are intriguing ideas and choosing just one is going to be difficult! Maybe I'll do all three, as AUs! :-D

Obviously I also need to decide whether this is going to be Next Gen Picard or Picard Picard! Hell, maybe I'll do both of those too!

Whatever, this has certainly got the creative juices flowing...

...Also, gonna need to find me a Picard icon and/or a Clara icon for talking about this! (Best I can do is Twelve from Clara's era!)

Fic: Secret Escapes (Doctor Who)

The authors for [community profile] space_swap have been revealed, so here is the fic I wrote for [personal profile] shopfront. It was quite a challenge, partly because I'm so damn busy these days and have so many other calls on my creative abilities, and partly because I so rarely write anything that doesn't involved Jack Harkness, but it was totally worth it because my recipient loved it and that's absolutely all that matters. It was really nice to write Reinette again, as I've only ever written her in one fic and a few threads of role-play, and she really is such an amazing, well-rounded character. And I wrote Clara (or at least splinter!Clara) for the first time too, which was exciting. Anyway, I don't think it's the best thing I've ever written, but I'm quite pleased with it and my recipient loved it, so I deem it a success!

It's also the first fic I have ever posted to AO3, because that's where the exchange was held. I hope eventually to migrate all my fics over there as it seems to be the place where everyone looks for fic these days!
