Because you were hosting that great discussion about Jack's history and character and then we got talking over here too. That was a lot of fun. :-)
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
NCIS/Tony. And kittens, now.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You are always so cheerful and bubbly. I love that.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
The way you kept telling me over and over that my writing was good, when I was going through that major crisis of confidence last year. Thank you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
What's your real name?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
The comma sutra one.

2. TONY! \o/ Everyone seems to be assosciating me with Tony! I love that ♥ It helps that we're kind of alike, too. In some aspects, anyway. Tony and I, I mean :D
Kittens! ♥
3. Yay! Made possible by sugar. Seriously, when my blood sugar level drops too low, I get really cranky and pissed off and bitchy and snap at everyone around me. My mum usually just tells me to eat something when I get pissy. It's a great way to avoid fights :D
4. It's true! You are a good writer!
5. Antonia. Most of my friends call me Tonia or Tona, though, and the internetlands calls me Chibi (left-over from Japanese class, actually, I was the youngest one there and chibi means little :D And I was the little one. It just stuck :D) and. Hell, I got loads of nicknames *nods*
:D

Thanks for explaining the Chibi thing, though. I thought it was Japanese. You learned Japanese?
no subject
I did for... a year or so, before I went to Ireland. By now, I've forgotten most of it, though :( It's an awesome language and we had so much fun in that class :D

Though my best friend, who is half-Japanese, told me that the stuff we learnt as normal? was actually pretty damn polite already :D

Because you wrote that brilliant fic, whose name escapes me at this instant, about JAck on the Valiant and I didn't want to miss any more.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
Actually, that icon you just used with the Doctor wiggling is pretty much the first thing I think of now!
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You always seem to be around when I need someone to talk to. You comment a lot on my journal and that makes me feel wanted. :-)
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
You were the first person to email me last Thursday when I was really, really depressed at work from not being allowed on LJ or IJ anymore. I love you for that!
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Well, I would ask what your real name is, but I know now, from last Thursday! (Well, I assume that was your real name? Okay, I'm asking anyway then!)
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
Huh, you've only got 6! The Jack and Martha one. I love that moment.

Gosh, you know it's so long ago, I can't remember! Something to do with you being all intelligent in discussions at
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
That icon you just used, because it's so bright and cheerful. And Buffy.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You're clever and funny and friendly and really, really likeable.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
You betaing my first fic and being so incredibly supportive. So much so that I keep on coming back for more... *g*
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
I'm not very good at thinking of questions. Ooh, I know. What's the first story you ever wrote?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
The one of Giles in a sombrero. That is such a classic Buffy moment.

3. Awwww...bless you
4. Anytime :)
5. Oh gosh...*thinks* I used to mainline Man from UNCLE fic, but I don't think I ever wrote any. I started a horrific X-men piece that lives a shamefaced existence on my ff.net account, but I think the first thing I finished was "The Last Waltz", a Gambit/Psylocke (sort of) X-men piece that I revised recently for Becky's 'Guilty pleasures' challenge. It was reasonably readable, considering...

End of 2004, while I was on my gap year after University. So that's what? 3 1/2 years ago? Huh. Seems longer :)

But I'd been making up stories for my favourite TV programmes and books for as long as I can remember, so it wasn't that big a leap. :D

Because I'd started role-playing with you and talking to you and wanted to know more about you. (And when you were likely to be about! *g*)
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
Actually, after you posted that picture of you in that cage, it's going to take a while to replace that as my default image of you!
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You have a fantastic sense of humour. The things you come up with... You can make me laugh really hard (in a good way)!
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
The first time we role-played. We'd had that big horrible misunderstanding the week before (what a way to meet!) and then there I was sitting bored at work and plucked up my courage and played with you - and there was the Master thinking Rose was going to be easy - and there were you showing me he needed to think again about that... I have learned a lot about RP and writing in general from playing with you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Since I seem to be going with a theme of names here, why were you named Mecca?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
That dying young one. It's amazing how often it seems appropriate!
no subject
5. Actually I was going to be named Hannah. But the night before I was born my mom was watching a special on PBS about the city of Mecca and it gave some sort of definition of Mecca where it meant "The Highest Point". I was my mother's first child and she was only 17 and she said she just couldn't stop thinking that I was going to be the highest point in her life.

5. Oh... That's kind of heart-wrenching.

And you know. 4 kids, 2 steps, 1 foster- she *likes* kids.

Gosh, I didn't realise there were that many of you!

And grandkids Robbie, Kayla, RJ, Tristan, Chase, and Riley!
*cough* I love to watch her tell people that. She's 40. (granted? my stepsisters are 10 and 7 years older than me.)
no subject
And wow. Andy was nearly 40 when we had Jack! It's so weird that people his age can be grandparents!
no subject
...Oddly I never made the association. I just like the name Jamie. I don't. Hit names with my siblings? They're more images/feelings than names. Huh. That's weird.

Definitely interesting, though. :-)

Because you friended me! *g* Well, because I liked you. And you said nice things about my fics. :-)

Norwich.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You're friendly and sweet and you're a great writer. You have a way with images that I could never hope to match.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
You offering your company in person that week in November when I was really, really, really depressed. When you barely knew me. One day I'm going to take you up on that.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Names again... Why 'Vae'?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
*goes to look* Ooh, you have so many pretty ones. But the one of Inara stood out amongst all those of the boys. It's lovely.
no subject
4. I really hope you do. It seems so silly that we live so close, and yet we've never met - and I've met people on my f-list who live the other side of the world.
5. Promise not to laugh? It's a typo. My real name is Barbara (as you now know from emails) and my family call me Bar. I was typing one night when I was really tired, and my fingers slipped across, and from thence came Vae. So I stuck with it.
6. That was one of my earliest icons! Inara is simply beautiful, and I was so pleased with how the lighting worked out on that one.
no subject
5. Not laughing. I knew you said it came from your real name but I couldn't work out how the hell you got Vae from Barbara! Thanks for explaining!
6. It's gorgeous!
no subject
5. You're welcome! It's just a jump to the left...
6. Thank you! It's weird, because Morena Baccarin doesn't do a thing for me, but Inara, just. Wow. *uses it again*

5. *giggles*

Er - this is where I get very embarrassed and admit I can't remember. It's weird, because we haven't really talked very much, have we? But I always read your entries. I'm just not very good at commenting. Sorry! I think maybe you commented on some of my fics and I'd been noticing you over at Becky's at the for a while and decided to friend a fellow Buffy fan?
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
Tara, because of your journal theme.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You like Buffy and Doctor Who! Great combination!
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
You posted about the Whoville party thread - and I was all high from playing some really great threads that day and we squeed together!
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Is your name really Anna?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
Oooh, you have so many gorgeous ones! But the Numfar one has to get top place. I love the dance of joy. *g*
no subject
That's okay--I tend to be awful at commenting, too.
Is your name really Anna?
My middle name is, yes. Anna1 was my username over at TrekBBS--I posted there for a few years, before discovering LJ. I stuck that in the subtitle so people would be able to figure out who I was, if they were from there and found my journal. Hated that username, too. I went through a dozen trying to register over there, tried that one, and it actually got through.
My first name is Rachel.
And here's that Numfar icon for you.
no subject
Rachel, though... I had two best friends called Rachel at school. Rachels and Annas seem to go together. :-)
no subject
Later, Mom discovered that there are at least two or three other Rachel Anna's in the family, so it's apparently freakishly common for us.
Sidenote: She used the Biblical spelling of the name, so that I wouldn't have to spell it for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, every other person named Rachel spelled it as Racheal, Rachal (someone actually spelled it that way), Rachell, or Rachael, so I pretty much do have to spell it for everyone. *laughs*
no subject
And maybe spellings like that are more of a US thing? Virtually every Rachel I know spells it like that - and I know a LOT of them! *g*
Or it could be an age thing. You're nine years younger than me - maybe everyone got fed up with spelling it the normal way!

1. Tell you why I friended you.
I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was because I love your writing.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
Bluewater. *g*
3. Tell you something I like about you.
You're a lovely person and very easy to talk to - in real life as much as on LJ.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
Bluewater! That half-hour (or however long it was) that we spent squeeing together in the donut shop - fantastic fun.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Since I know all about your name, let's go with the other question I seem to be asking: what was the first thing you ever wrote?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
I love that one of the Master with his screwdriver. :-)
no subject
3 makes me happy because talking to people is not usually my strong point
4 - that was so much fun! Public squee wins.
5 - The first thing I ever wrote was when my sister was a baby. I was about five, and I made her a set of storybooks about the animals on the ark. I illustrated them and stapled them together into a book and everything.
