1. I remember, yeah. It really surprised me how many people participated in that discussion. It was awesome! :D

2. TONY! \o/ Everyone seems to be assosciating me with Tony! I love that ♥ It helps that we're kind of alike, too. In some aspects, anyway. Tony and I, I mean :D

Kittens! ♥

3. Yay! Made possible by sugar. Seriously, when my blood sugar level drops too low, I get really cranky and pissed off and bitchy and snap at everyone around me. My mum usually just tells me to eat something when I get pissy. It's a great way to avoid fights :D

4. It's true! You are a good writer!

5. Antonia. Most of my friends call me Tonia or Tona, though, and the internetlands calls me Chibi (left-over from Japanese class, actually, I was the youngest one there and chibi means little :D And I was the little one. It just stuck :D) and. Hell, I got loads of nicknames *nods*

:D

's fine, I'm terrible with names *grins*

I did for... a year or so, before I went to Ireland. By now, I've forgotten most of it, though :( It's an awesome language and we had so much fun in that class :D

It kind of is, yes. There's a million different phrasings and each is more polite than the next. Seriously.

Though my best friend, who is half-Japanese, told me that the stuff we learnt as normal? was actually pretty damn polite already :D

Awww *feels all warm* nice. And yes, that's my real name... I can never live abroad because of it...

*waves* I will get around to reposting, just probably not tonight...

1. It's weird isn't - I know I'm going to have trouble with that one when I repost it...

3. Awwww...bless you

4. Anytime :)

5. Oh gosh...*thinks* I used to mainline Man from UNCLE fic, but I don't think I ever wrote any. I started a horrific X-men piece that lives a shamefaced existence on my ff.net account, but I think the first thing I finished was "The Last Waltz", a Gambit/Psylocke (sort of) X-men piece that I revised recently for Becky's 'Guilty pleasures' challenge. It was reasonably readable, considering...

I had to go and look this up, because I honestly had no idea.

End of 2004, while I was on my gap year after University. So that's what? 3 1/2 years ago? Huh. Seems longer :)

Hee. Yes and no. I'd read tonnes of fanfic by the time I started, which I like to think of as an education and preparation - it certainly meant I knew what badfic read like. And I'm a quick learner. And I had fantastic help from people in the House fandom when I really got going.

But I'd been making up stories for my favourite TV programmes and books for as long as I can remember, so it wasn't that big a leap. :D

4. I'm so glad you tagged that thread. It and the subsequent ones were a lot of fun.

5. Actually I was going to be named Hannah. But the night before I was born my mom was watching a special on PBS about the city of Mecca and it gave some sort of definition of Mecca where it meant "The Highest Point". I was my mother's first child and she was only 17 and she said she just couldn't stop thinking that I was going to be the highest point in her life.

But in a good way! Not like "The rest of my life was going to be bad" more like a "This is going to be the most awesome thing as of *yet*"

And you know. 4 kids, 2 steps, 1 foster- she *likes* kids.

Jamie, Jera, Mecca, Jon, Chloe, Luke, and David.
And grandkids Robbie, Kayla, RJ, Tristan, Chase, and Riley!

*cough* I love to watch her tell people that. She's 40. (granted? my stepsisters are 10 and 7 years older than me.)
Thursday, May 1st, 2008 08:12 pm (UTC)
My oldest stepsister.

...Oddly I never made the association. I just like the name Jamie. I don't. Hit names with my siblings? They're more images/feelings than names. Huh. That's weird.

Oh, wow. I think I'm kind of humbled.

4. I really hope you do. It seems so silly that we live so close, and yet we've never met - and I've met people on my f-list who live the other side of the world.

5. Promise not to laugh? It's a typo. My real name is Barbara (as you now know from emails) and my family call me Bar. I was typing one night when I was really tired, and my fingers slipped across, and from thence came Vae. So I stuck with it.

6. That was one of my earliest icons! Inara is simply beautiful, and I was so pleased with how the lighting worked out on that one.

4. Oh, I would love to. The thing is, though, I'm going to be out of work in mid-June. Which means that I'm severely limited on funds, and could be working or chasing interviews which is also going to mean that planning anything at the moment is kind of hellish.

5. You're welcome! It's just a jump to the left...

6. Thank you! It's weird, because Morena Baccarin doesn't do a thing for me, but Inara, just. Wow. *uses it again*

Me, please.

I'm just not very good at commenting.

That's okay--I tend to be awful at commenting, too.

Is your name really Anna?

My middle name is, yes. Anna1 was my username over at TrekBBS--I posted there for a few years, before discovering LJ. I stuck that in the subtitle so people would be able to figure out who I was, if they were from there and found my journal. Hated that username, too. I went through a dozen trying to register over there, tried that one, and it actually got through.

My first name is Rachel.

And here's that Numfar icon for you.
Thursday, May 1st, 2008 08:51 pm (UTC)
My Mom actually almost named me Lacey. The woman giving birth in the next bed was naming her kid Rachel. However, they each liked the other's name better, so Mom took Rachel for me, and the other lady took Lacey.

Later, Mom discovered that there are at least two or three other Rachel Anna's in the family, so it's apparently freakishly common for us.

Sidenote: She used the Biblical spelling of the name, so that I wouldn't have to spell it for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, every other person named Rachel spelled it as Racheal, Rachal (someone actually spelled it that way), Rachell, or Rachael, so I pretty much do have to spell it for everyone. *laughs*

1 - you know, I don't remember either. Same goes for quite a lot of my flist! Weird.

3 makes me happy because talking to people is not usually my strong point

4 - that was so much fun! Public squee wins.

5 - The first thing I ever wrote was when my sister was a baby. I was about five, and I made her a set of storybooks about the animals on the ark. I illustrated them and stapled them together into a book and everything.
