Jack was 2 1/3 yesterday so I weighed and measured him.

Weight: 3 stones / 42 lb / 19 kg. Blimey. No wonder it's an effort pick him up these days! And according to his chart, that's a whole kg over where he should be. But since he doesn't look fat, I'm not going to worry too much. (Even if the chart does say that's the average weight of a 5 year old!)

Height: 3' 3 1/2" / 39 1/2" / 99 cm Which is bang on the top line of the chart - the 99.6th centile. Wow. And that's the average height of a 3 1/2 year old.

Also, his waist is 20". Which makes me boggle at ladies who used to have 16" waists. 'Cos that'd be TINY!

In other news, he can now put the washing on by himself. Yesterday morning, I observed that his fabric book that he cuddles in bed was looking dirty and needed a wash. Well, he wandered off downstairs while I was getting dressed, as he usually does, and I came downstairs to find he'd put his book in the washing machine, turned it to the right setting (the one I use pretty much all the time) and turned it on.

(Of course, I then had to turn it off and drain it and put the rest of the washing in too to avoid wasting an entire load's worth of energy and water, but it was still pretty damn impressive!)

My eldest was always enormous like that, but he's actually the littlest kid in class now! It's completely mindboggling (to me). He was 30 pounds when he was a year old, 45 when he turned 3. He's 9 now, and weighs 52 pounds. What. The. Fuck. Anyway.

The wash story is just adorable.

Yeah. I'm 5'7, but Michael's 6'3". I have no idea what the hell happened with James. His 7 year old brother's taller than he is, though also skinny as a rail.

Aw, a true Three-Cheese-High Toddler, then ^^ Cute.

Nope, it's actually our word for a toddler, as they're as tall as three stacked loaves of cheese ^^

Bless! That's why he needs to be tall - to reach the washing machine dials :D That's incredibly cute.

I see the ability to get a lot of mileage out of that story when he grows up. (Clean your room before you go out. But, MOM. No buts, do you want me to tell so-and-so about the time... I'm cleaning I'm cleaning)

Spamming you. That is pretty impressive!

The thing that I'm going to remember most about this entry is that it read:
