Title: I Like This Dream
Fandom: Doctor Who/Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Author: [livejournal.com profile] unfeathered
Pairing: Martha/Faith
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: Last of the Time Lords/post-Chosen
Disclaimer: Not mine
Summary: Martha meets Faith in her travels around the world.
Beta: unbeta'd
Author’s Note: [livejournal.com profile] morgynleri_fic prompted me with this: Faith/Martha - "I like this dream, baby, do you like this dream"

Faith is the strongest person Martha's ever known.

Yes, there's insecurity there, deep down, but Faith is strong where Martha needs it most: her confidence that one person can save the world.

And Faith gives her that confidence, spends endless nights reminding her she's beautiful, desirable, and most importantly, still human. That there is more to life than walking the earth spreading the word of the Doctor, that one day it will be over.

Martha knows it's only a brief respite, a dream in the middle of the nightmare, but she likes this dream. Oh, God, she likes this dream.

I can so see this. And am a bit curious about Faith's POV on this, too, now... Hmm.

Lovely, lovely little drabble. *goes back to searching for distractions*

Very nice. One girl in all the world, indeed.

Of course, if this drabble is set in the canon verse, then that means Faith is dead by the end of the YoH. Noes! But then the paradox is reversed. Phew.

Hmm. Well, maybe not. I don't see her letting Martha slip off without trying to come with her. To act as Martha's body bodyguard, for the world's sake, and for her own sake, if she got attached to Martha. That was my thinking, but I dunno.

Gorgeously written - I like the recognition of Faith's strength here, and the way Martha finds it so inspirational.

I also like the way you manage to pack so much emotion - longing - weariness and Martha's need for *something* to show her that she's not completely alone - into such a short piece.

Oh thanks for the link *I'm really beginning to wonder where April went*

That? Really works...
