I have had a really nice morning.


I've actually had just about enough sleep the last three nights, which REALLY helps, and the sun was shining this morning too, though it's gone in now. I actually got out of the house and took Jack to the local ball pool thing (indoor soft play area with slides etc.) We had a really good time - I had more energy than usual, so actually felt like playing with him, and there were some other nice kids there too that he had fun playing with.

And while we were there, the lady from the little coffee shop bit attached to it said she had loads of stale bread and would we all like to take some to feed the ducks (the river's right nearby) - so we ended up with about half a loaf of bread to feed to the ducks - or 'sucks' as Jack now seems to be calling them. I swear he could say 'duck' yesterday. The swans were called 'sucks' too. *g*

Other cute words: ephalent (elephant), ellybird (ladybird), lilk (milk). Oh, and he's started trying to sing the alphabet song, though he only knows abcd and then sort of skips to h, but it's very cute.

Then we went to Tescos to get a few bits and bobs and Jack had a great time picking out fifteen sprouts separately and putting them in the bag, and helping me get things off the shelves etc.

And we managed all of it without the pushchair, which made things a lot easier, and he didn't ask to be carried once. He's growing up so fast!


Oh, and I got my second draft of Master Plan off to beta before I went out, so progress is being made, even if rather slowly. :-)

Yeah. Simple stuff, but I enjoyed it. I've really been enjoying being with Jack - actually almost looking forward to it. Which sounds pretty awful, but it's a huge step forwards for me.

I am so not used to having had three good nights in a row. It's amazing what a difference it makes!

Jack is gorgeous. I can't stop cuddling and kissing him and telling him how much I love him at the moment.

I think technically I'm getting enough sleep, but it's all grey outside and cold and all I want is to curl up and sleep until the summer comes *whines a bit*

Yeah, actually, it's freezing here - really chill wind - but the sun was shining and it's still not that grey even though it's gone in. And it's not raining!

I do feel really happy right now. I'm still on the pills, of course, and I don't know how long it'll last, but yeah. Happy right now. :-)

I hate the cold and I hate winter and I hate grey. Though of course, they all have their good aspects as well :D No rain is good.

Happiness is even better. Happy = very good!

yay! that sounds lovely. I'm just about to head home, to wallow in the fics I've got to beta and curl up under the duvet for a couple of hours until the other half gets home. Not productive, but what I need right now.

I love those ball pool things, and am very miffed they don't make them for grown ups :)

Hey, betaing fics is productive! And curling up under a duvet is productive too - it makes you feel better. :-)

Apparently they will hire out the ball pool and its associated soft play area for grown-up parties... I've always thought that might be a lot of fun! But if you want to go to one, all you have to do is borrow a child. :-)

(David loves them and has brainwashed the children so they do, too. It isn't natural :-))

I have to admit, I was never overly keen on sprouts till I met Andy, but he loves them and I like them a lot more now. Plus, you know, a vegetable that the man will eat - will be excited about eating...!

Jack doesn't really eat any veggies except peas and carrots and the occasional bit of sweetcorn yet, but he does enjoy 'helping' to prepare them. :-)

I was scarred by the bullet-hard/soft and squishy ones you got with school dinners :-) My dad grows them and they're tiny, sweet and nutty; those, I'll eat.

Yay, sounds lovely indeed.

I had to fine-tune my British English to American English translator there, because what you call sprouts we normally call Brussel sprouts (at least I'm fairly sure that's what you're referring to), and when we say sprouts without a modifier we're probably referring to alfalfa sprouts (or some similar sprouted seed). So I had a second of imagining you and Jack picking out fifteen individual strands of alfalfa sprouts!

I'd never heard of alfalfa until I read 'Of Mice and Men' a few years ago. And yeah, although you weren't talking to me, I may as well add that sprouts = Brussels sprouts.

Yeah, we call them Brussels too, but in my family they've always been referred to as just sprouts. I don't really know what alfalfa sprouts are - but they always make me think of Buffy and the way she referred to the demon Acathla as Alfalfa. *g*

Oh, be glad if you've never had to face alfalfa sprouts. They're supposed to be oh so very nutritious and are particularly recommended for vegetarians, but I have yet to meet any that didn't taste like dirt.

Babies are boring till the reach about two. In my opinion, anyway. *g*

I'll probably be tired tomorrow - got home late from rehearsal, then had a talk with Andy, then sat and did the final edit on the new Master Plan chapter, and have now posted it! Just hope someone comments on it soon so I can go to bed! *g*
