Well, tbh, I don't think I've ever had to correct a mistake of that type in your writing.

Well, that's true. If it was:

"Jack!" he yelled. vs "Jack!" He yelled.

or something similar I'd have been bluffing my way through.

I always try and get round that one by using the speaker's name - it's so much easier than having to think.

I do that too! Quite frequently in fact. Or switching to something that is a full sentence: He sighed or His tone was harsh, etc

Punctuation hint: if you know that starting a new sentence like that needs an upper case 'H' on 'He', you should be able to work out that therefore something that isn't a new sentence needs a lower case 'h' on 'he'.

Honestly, it really is as simple as that. :-)
