So, my Guilty Pleasures Master/Jack/Doctor fic is finished and up to my flist for checking before being posted to comms, and it's time to get back to real life for a bit.
My aims for this weekend are:
1. Do meal planner for the next fortnight and do Tesco order for that and a few bits for Christmas.
2. Put up the decorations. (I've never put them up this early before, but Jack's going to love them and I think we all need a bit of cheering up this year.)
3. Do the online ordering for Christmas presents, because I've been very lazy about that so far.
4. Write the Christmas cards.
5. Have a look at the Godspell script and work on the acting audition pieces.
Tomorrow Jack has a 2nd birthday party to go to in the afternoon, and then it's my (belated) joint birthday dinner with my sister-in-law (whose birthday was the 5th) at Mum's in the evening.
And Andy had yesterday off and all to himself, and he's got Monday off too, so he's going to look after Jack and I should get at least a few hours to myself, which will be nice. Hopefully he's also going to take Jack out of the house for a bit so I can practice my singing and acting for the Godspell auditions that evening without anyone else around having to listen to me! :-)
ETA: Email's playing up again - hubby needs to make more room on the server AGAIN!

And yeah. Lot's to do, and I'm still here hanging around LJ. Well. I have actually opened the Thomas the Tank Engine site to check out what to buy for Jack, but it's a bit mind-boggling, there's so much of it!

I'm fairly fortunate at this point in that my kids are capable of telling me what works, but two-three-four year olds are just the worst ever to shop for. They just. It's hit and miss (or was for me) if they'll TOUCH stuff, never mind play with it.

And actually, if I take him shopping with me, he's pretty good at telling me - or rather, showing *g* - what he'll play with. Because he just sits down and plays with it in the shop! :-)
The annoying thing is that so many toys say 3 years + because of the choking hazard thing, when really they're meant for 2 year olds, so it's hard to figure out what he should be playing with! But I've got him a few small things already, plus the Thomas stuff and then I've got to find him an easel with a blackboard etc. and I think that'll do!

I love Christmas. I also loathe it.

No, don't bother sendnig me a card, thanks - virtual wishes are fine, and much better for the environment! :-)

Right, I think you mentioned not wanting Christmas cards, didn't you?

When I was a child, we used to decorate when the school holidays started, so about a week before Christmas, so that's what I'm used to. I've never done it this early before. But the tree is up and decorated now even if I haven't done anything else, and it's making the room feel really nice and cosy and cheerful! :-)
