This meme has been going round my flist, so I've finally decided to join in.
Step One
Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf---to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not-it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
This will be my first Christmas on LJ and I wasn't expecting presents of any kind. So I didn't think I was going to do a wish list myself, but when I thought about it I did come up with some ideas. Nothing that costs money, though. The most important thing I get from my flist is your friendship (yeah, feel free to throw up in the corner), and anything extra is just a bonus. :-)
1. I'm not in favour of real Christmas cards, mainly on environmental grounds, so I won't be giving my address to anyone for that – but e-cards are always fun, or even just greetings without an actual card. It's the words, not the pictures, that are important to me. (My email, for those who don't know, is anna.funnell at blueyonder.co.uk.)
2. Porn. Preferably slash, and preferably not Ianto, but as long as it's hot, I'm not that fussy. D/s is a pretty sure bet, and the kinkier the better, really. Dark is also good. (And yeah, I know I didn't need to add any of that. You all know what I like! *g*)
3. Fics that make me smile or laugh, like alien donut fics.
4. Fics with Giles in them.
5. More porn.
6. Artwork for any of my fics. Preferably with instructions on how to put it up, because I have NO knowledge about picturey things.
7. Master/Doctor icons (that's Simm/Ten, just to be clear).
8. Spike icons.
9. Giles/Jack icons for when I eventually get round to writing more of Connection.
10. Did I mention porn?
And yes, I know three of my wishes are the same, but really I cannot emphasise the porn strongly enough. *g*
