Bits and Bobs - 'where I'm at' post

Just a few disparate things I wanted to get down here….


1. Wow, my flist has been busy again overnight! Won't be able to catch up just yet!

2. Becky and I have finally figured out why I find writing the Master easy and she doesn't. Thread here - and that's also her great Timestamp Meme response to my request for a prequel to Gotcha!.

3. Additional item for my Personal Canon Meme: the Doctor was the one who really introduced Jack to the joys of D/s. This has actually come up in my writing right from the start – there was a brief reference to it in Connection (and there's a more explicit one in the follow-up which I will finish one day) and of course it's also come up in my two Jack/Nine stories – I just didn't think of it when I was writing down my meme response the other day. I just have this idea that although Jack is obviously extremely experienced sexually before he meets the Doctor, he's only really played around with bondage etc. He hasn't really tried submitting properly. But the Doctor is someone he wants to submit to. And the Doctor is the one who teaches him how. (Mind you, I think I'm going to let Becky do most of the writing of that, especially since she's going to anyway… *g*)

4. I am going to try really hard to get that blooming bit of Jack/Doctor/Rose meta out today. If my flist would just quieten down for a bit I might actually get there… *g*

5. I am intending to get back to Master Plan very soon. I have a few pages of suggested amendments from mad_jaks to go through – she was the first person to read all six chapters in quick succession so I asked her to look at continuity etc. and she came up with some really interesting suggestions – which I then promptly ignored because Jack/Nine/Rose had taken over my brain! So I'm going to go through the whole story, make a few amendments, and hopefully get myself back into character for writing the Master. And then, with any luck, get on with Chapter 7!

6. I realise I still have three drabble-requests to fulfil, and a couple of Timestamp Meme requests. I will aim to get the Timestamp ones out today or tomorrow, simply because the whole idea of that is to just get them out! The drabbles may take a little longer because I need to do research. Oh, except chatona's, which is drafted and just needs finishing. :-)

03. I like that idea. Now, I'm not exactly a big fan of D/s in general, but I do like the thought that the Doctor is someone Jack could submit to *bounces* Rather than Jack just submitting to random people (or aliens).

3. Jack has a very strong personality. It's hard to make him submit to anyone who hasn't also got a very strong personality.

3 is definitely, definitely part of my personal canon. In fact , I tend to take it a lot further and assume Jack's pretty inexperienced with MOST of the aspects of BDSM at that point. Because it requires a lot of trust, and Jack's just not had a lot of time (my Jack, I add) to get it there.

And hey! I. Okay, that remark about me is very, very, fair. Cause I'm gonna.

Yeah but while it's still buzzing - especially after not just being able to sit down and WRITE it - every time I spot something vaguely realated my brain goes OOOOOOH good point!

Oh. Yes, I know that feeling. But while you are still writing it, at least you can incorporate it. Better to spot things now than afterwards!

I don't think that's taking it further than I had it, actually. When I said 'playing around' I really meant only what most 'vanilla' people would do - and I'm suspecting he would have been the top more than the bottom in that.

Totally with you on the trust. That discussion the other day about what they get from each other - trust and need - had it in a nutshell.

And I'm having a great time! Just wish there were more hours in the day! :-)

I am so not sleeping now, because all I want to do is WRITE. It's insane, but I'm liking it and keeping it and going with it. It's good for me.

The trust and need thing, really does sum it up. There's other stuff, but almost everything falls under those headers.
