I haven't posted anything about last week's episode yet because I felt like I need to watch it again to make sense of all the disparate threads, but this week I felt I had to post right away! I'll catch up on episode 1 later!

Oh my god. That was so good! It felt like real, proper Doctor Who. Excitement, suspense, tension, drama, and loads of great one-liners. A Sontaran who went to the Crimea because he wanted to ride a horse. Companions who actively took the initiative and leapt fearlessly into the fray, one with a wok provided by his awesome parents, and the other… well, wow, Yaz really has developed into the character I always thought she should be since losing Graham and Ryan, hasn't she? Plus a great guest character whom it was awesome to learn about (since literally the first time I ever came across her was in Horrible Histories). A shame she was accompanied by a very stereotyped male guest part, but hey, I guess you can't ask for miracles. And I love the idea of playing about with time, which is such an obvious thing for Doctor Who to do, and so far (*crosses fingers*) it seems to be doing it quite well.

I… loved it. That is something I've not been able to say (except for regarding Fugitive of the Judoon) for way, way too long.

I've really enjoyed the first two episodes! And all the callbacks!

Agreed, it's so great that Yaz is getting more development now. I don't miss Ryan and Graham, even though they were quite heartwarming at times.

Right?! The concept of a planet Time and the broken Mouri is very cool, and kinda surprising Doctor Who hasn't done it before. Unless it has and I just didn't know...
