So this is what I wrote after originally watching this episode (which I don't appear to have posted here, or if I did, I can't find it!):

"Another solid episode, with a lot of really great character development for the main characters. Rosa was lovely too and I really liked how they handled the whole racism thing, with Ryan, and Yas being thought Mexican. Seeing how they handled it all really brought it home.

But once again I felt like the whole plot of the episode was way too thin. It didn't help that I felt like I was in an episode of Timeless, and that the entire plot seemed to echo that theme of our team of people trying to preserve a point in history while charming evil guy tried to change it. I kept waiting for the twist, and it didn't come. When Krasko was revealed to have a Vortex Manipulator, I thought he was going to turn out to be a Time Agent who was trying to *protect* the timeline, presumably because the Doctor & co. were going to disrupt it, but no, he really was just a standard bad guy trying to disrupt things for some reason that I don't think ever actually got explained. Or was it just because he was a racist? But I don't think it was explained *why* he was a racist."

Second time around? I loved it. Sure, the message was a little bit in your face, but considering I knew absolutely nothing about Rosa Parks before first seeing this episode, being educated was fine. It's certainly something everyone should be educated about, especially given all the events of this year.

And, because of the events of this year and a certain soon-to-be-ex-US President, I now know what a white supremacist is and got straight away this time around that that was what Krasko was. Though I did feel that a little more could have been made of it, still.

Still a little disappointed that there was no twist, but I absolutely adored Rosa and very much enjoyed the way the companions come together and each work with their strengths in what is essentially their first proper 'normal' DW adventure. I particularly loved Graham's obvious pain at having to be one of the white people preventing Rosa from having a seat, and the Doctor's more subtle pain.

Still felt like an episode of Timeless though! :-D

Hmm, really need some current companion icons...
