Okay, so I am *really* behind the times, but I just watched the first episode of Merlin for the first time and I loved it! Way more than I ever expected to. I always meant to watch it at some stage, and I did watch a few minutes here and there, but it never grabbed me. And then the other day I noticed that SyFy were showing it from the beginning and so I started recording it, and my son (13) (who is also into Arthur through the Michael Morpurgo Pendragon books) and I just watched the first episode and it was great! I feel so bad that I never started watching it earlier! I mean, obviously, Anthony Head, and Richard Wilson, plus I've role-played with an awesome Merlin (plus Colin Morgan was in DW), plus Katie McGrath (who I watched in Supergirl for 3 or 4 years before I realised she was also Morgana!) (and I've also role-played with a Morgana, now I think about it!), plus I grew up reading the Arthurian legend, first of all in The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper, then in Mary Stewart's Merlin series, and then various others including The Mists of Avalon and the Gillian Bradshaw trilogy, and, well. This was obviously made for me. What a shame it's taken me so long to give it a go!
(P.S. Sorry for any rambling. This review was brought to you courtesy of a couple of strong gin & tonics after a rather crappy day!)

Can't wait to see episode 2, but I'm having to wait until my next evening's viewing with Jackster, which isn't until tomorrow...
