Drabble Meme

Since everyone else seems to be doing some variation of this one, and I've already requested a drabble each off smithy161 and mad_jaks, I feel I ought to join the club!

So the first seven (because it's a nice number and I don't want to commit to more than I can deliver) people to comment on this post get to request a drabble from me.

Some kind of prompt as well as character(s)/pairing would be greatly appreciated as I'm not very good at coming up with things out of thin air!

I could possibly manage Firefly too at a pinch, but I've never tried to write it (mind you, I've never actually written Torchwood either)...
Oh, and if anyone remembers Press Gang (which would possibly have been my first fandom, if I'd known such a thing existed), I could have a go at that too!

OK, you get yours first, because it was the easiest!

My first attempt at dialogue-only – because the dialogue came first (as always, it seems!) and there wasn't room for anything else in 100 words! Also extremely non-smutty for me. Sorry if you were expecting smut! *g*

Jack/Giles, same 'verse as Connection, set after LotTL.



"Has something happened? You seem… happier."

"I am. Bizarrely, considering what I've gone through lately."

"Lately? But…"

"You saw me last Tuesday? Yeah. Been over a year for me, though."

"Time travel?"

"Yep."

"Ah. You found the Doctor?"

"Yep."

"Yet… you didn't stay with him?"

"Hey, the rate I age, I could have stayed away decades and you wouldn't know!"

"True. But you didn't."

"I… got what I wanted. And I missed my old life."

"You mean…"

"Yes, Giles. You."

"I… see. In that case… Suppose you get down on your knees and show me how much you missed me?"

I LOVED this! I just got out of a 3 hour staff meeting to find this waiting for me and suddenly I'm smiling! *bounces* Absolutely loved it!!!!

You know there's going to be more. It's already started. I've told you several times! *g*

I'm just trying to get Master Plan finished so I don't have two long serials on the go at once.

Even that's been interrrupted by all this Jack/Nine stuff - and that's been interrupted today by these drabbles, because my brain's just not feeling focussed enough for proper writing.

So there will be more. One day. I promise. :-)
