Woah, long, long time since my last post. Long time since I even logged in as Unfeathered, to be honest. My transition out of fandom back into real life has finally become complete enough that now I'm even too busy in RL even to tag my RP threads, a lot of the time. How things have changed since I first started out on LJ, desperate for an escape from RL!

But, even though I sincerely doubt anyone's still reading my journal, I had to come on here and share that I've just shared Buffy with my son for the first time. He's 9 1/2 and I didn't know when to introduce him to it - especially since I tried him with Press Gang last year and he found that too 'adult' (as in too much about teenagers and their teenage problems) - but he'd heard me talking about Buffy and so when we decided to have a tv dinner tonight he asked if we could watch Buffy.

At which point I realised that I hadn't even watched most of the earlier seasons at all since before he was born!!! And despite umpteen discussions back in the day about which episode to show people to get them hooked, I couldn't remember what the verdict was. A quick Google showed that Earshot was the clear favourite for the job, so I went with that. I wasn't sure, as we watched it, since it actually seemed pretty arc-y, but Jackster enjoyed it enough that he then wanted to go right back to the start and watch Welcome to the Hellmouth! So we did - and then it was bedtime, so he'll have to wait till next time to see the second part of that one. Mean Mummy! *g*

Anyway. I'm just so chuffed that, having shared the whole of Doctor Who (except Torchwood, obviously!) with him, I can now share my first fannish love with him too!

He's 9 1/2

o_O

I never really watched Buffy, so I can't comment, but...good grief, time flies!

It really doesn't seem like that long ago! Timelet is 18 and in college (cosmetology school); TinyTimelet is 12 and not so tiny any more, in fact only an inch shorter than me and well on track to pass me up soon. :(
