So, I was rewatching The Girl in the Fireplace the other night, as that's where we've got to in our current New Who rewatch, and whilst I very much enjoyed it I couldn't help noticing some rather distinctive parallels.

The Doctor meets Reinette first when she's 7 (well, she says she was 7, though going by dates she couldn't actually have been more than 6). He then pops away expecting to be right back, and ends up coming back when she's 19, leaving her thinking of him as her kind-of-imaginary childhood friend.

For goodness sake, even the *ages* are the same as Amy's ages! I mean, I know it's become very evident that Moffat likes to recycle ideas (and normally does it well enough that I don't mind), but honestly, does he really have such a lack of creativity as that???
