So - did anyone else's heart miss a beat (just for a moment) at the description of what was left in the spaceship as "something that can never die"? *g*
Oh, good - I'm glad it wasn't just me! And wouldn't it have been so cool? I mean, it's Moffat and it's the 51st century and it's River (who I would love to turn out to be a Time Agent) and I was half expecting John Hart to turn up too and an unexpected Jack appearance would actually have not been that unexpected. Except that they would definitely have given it away in last week's trailer, of course.
It did, indeed. But I refuse to let it snuff out my glimmer of hope that this Doctor will have over-come his Jack-issues sufficiently to give Jack some of the love he deserves.
I amuse myself by how much I'm willing to believe it could happen, not necessarily canon-slash, but a Jack/Eleven interaction where the Doctor treats Jack considerably better than Ten ever did.

Especially with the pained look on Eleven's face ;)
