Believe it or not, more than one person on my F-list has failed to BOLD Barrowman. And some them are people who know who he is. I am SHOCKED.

But yeah. Anthony Head. Totally. In fact, I swear I will be massively bummed out if they don't keep him as the voice over for the Dr. Who Confidentials.

And oh yeah, I love Anthony Head's voice on the Confidentials. Not that I watch many of them, but I just love his voice! :-)

See, I find characters sexy, and rarely the actors themselves. I, for one, might do Jack if here were real and he showed me clean VD test, but I would never in a millions years, want to do John Barrowman.

That's very interesting. Admittedly, a lot of those mentioned above I don't know anything about them as themselves, but Jack v. JB.... I think I'd feel intimidated by Jack, plus he's got that definite callous streak, whereas JB comes across as so open and genuine. Plus I fancied him way back when I first saw him in Phantom, so for me it definitely is more a JB thing than a Jack thing. :-)

Sorry, I haven't seen any of those. I don't watch a lot of movies (I'm more of a tv series girl), and Lord of the Rings came out while I was pregnant/had a small baby and I've still got a lot of catching up to do on things I missed around that time!

Okay then, you're excused, sorry. He has this way of talking soft way back in his throat, almost a mumble, and wonderful hands and a basic goodness, and then just when he's got you all mellow he takes a part as a crazy villain, and then? He's freaking terrifying. It's great.

Hands off Anthony Stewart Head, woman! He's mine! Mine, I tell you! Although I'd be happy to shared, since there obviously isn't enough of him to go around, and hogging him all to myself just seems unsisterly.

Why anyone would want to screw Joe Spano, unless they knew him personally and liked him as a person, is beyond me. Did you ever watch "Hill Street Blues"? He was Henry, the station's lieutenant, and the kind of pillar of cool detachment that doesn't bode well for mental stability (saw him magnified in Sam Tyler in the pilot episode of Life on Mars, in fact), except when his kid got sick (and, God, but his breakdown and the empathetic hug that Daniel J. Travanti gave him in that scene was so powerful you wanted to cry and get right in there and hold both of them; one of the first times I ever "saw the slash", in fact --- the comfort given would have naturally gone there). He did a really good job in that role, but it was ... what, 25 years ago? I think I was still in law school, so it was at least that. And he wasn't sex-fantasy stuff then, although he did have that ticking emotional time-bomb quality to him that can be seductive. Oh, well.

I haven't ever seen Hill Street Blues, I'm afraid, so I can't comment. I was vaguely aware of it being on when I was a kid, but I was too young to be watching it.

Poking my nose in, as the person to added Mr. Spano to the list. I was a Hill Street watcher with a crush on Henry Goldblume back in the day. The scenes where he was flirting with Faye (who was hugely pregnant at the time) were some of the more delicate, sexy acting I'd seen and were pretty much the only time that Faye's character was tolerable in the whole run of the show. I always felt that while Frank (who I adored as well) was a humanitarian, it was Henry was an actually humanist, with too much love for man-kind as a whole.

However, it's not just nostalgia that puts him on my list in bold. He's currently a recurring character on NCIS as FBI Agent Tobias Fornell and he is part of my NCIS OTP with Gibbs. In nearly every episode he appears in, Gibbs and Fornell end up squaring off in "their usual meeting place" the elevator, often calling each other bastards, with the older guy-slash vibes absolutely POURING off the screen. (see icon.)

I realize that Mr. Spano, at this age, isn't every girl's dream, but yes, I would still hit that. HARD.

I have no TV, hating Comcast --- which has something of a monopoly on TV access where I live --- as I do, so I don't do a whole lot of watching of current shows. So, no knowledge re: his current projects, other than that I remember hearing he teaches acting. As for his current "hitability", I've go no problem with hitting someone that age, being pretty much my age bracket, and I must say I wouldn't mind seeing older-guy slash (showing the young'uns how it's really done). The impression I got from him as Henry was that he was a man under pressure and that he wasn't processing it all that well but that he kept it under wraps. Too much so, some of the time. Don't remember him flirting with Faye, but I can see how Henry and his way of being (even though he didn't personally do anything for me, I did think he smiled in a really nice way) would have made her more tolerable (which, you're right, wasn't a regular thing). And I still say that the Frank/Henry had great potential.

Amen to Frank/Henry, although in retrospect that show was a fertile ground for all kinds of shipping. I think the one I felt the most (not having the lingo for it then) was Frank/JD, especially the episode when JD walked into the AA meeting.

Ah, yes! The way JD almost cried when Frank turned around in his seat and looked at him and Frank's proud, welcoming look was just heartmelting after watching JD's downward spiral. I actually remember thinking Bobby and his partner --- the big, burly redneck guy who was played by an actor who actually grew up not to far from where I am --- had the potential. They had their problems, but they did love each other, at least early on.
