*sighs with relief*

I was so scared that RTD was going to spoil everything - and Joss all the decisions I've had to make about the Master in order to write him - and he didn't! Or only in minor ways, anyway. So mostly I'm just a huge puddle of relief!

But more than that, it was *fun*. He made the multiple Masters thing work (amazingly), the cactus people were fun, there was racing about and the Doctor being wheeled about in that chair, and space ship fights, and Wilf being cool and amazing, and wow! Time Lords!

On the down side, there was the total cop-out with Donna, no Romana as President (though maybe she'd been killed/deposed by then), and the interminable milking of the Tenth Doctor's goodbyes. All that "I've still got things I want to do" was annoying. That section at the end where all his companions got their curtain calls really was such an anti-climax after all the high tension before it. Yeah, nice to see them all again, but it was just a bit silly. It felt to me far more like RTD and DT saying their goodbyes than the Doctor. He's never been like that before, on regenerating, has he? And since when did he have time to do all that before regeneration really took hold anyway???

On the other hand, it was quite cool to go back in time to see Rose. As soon as I saw the Powell Estate, I realised that was what he'd done. And of course quite funny that that was where he collapsed last time he regenerated too.

And did I hear right? Did the Doctor call the President 'Rassilon'???
