I've made several comments recently about the fact that Russell T Davies should get himself a canon-checker (or beta reader, as they are sometimes known *g*).

And having read the recent interview with John Barrowman, it's evident that he has got one in John. He mentions the fact he's got two years of his memory missing (even if he does get it wrong as two weeks, at least he hasn't forgotten it completely!), and he says he tells the producers when the script has Jack contradicting himself.

So RTD obviously does have a canon-checker. He obviously just doesn't always listen to him.

I'd love to know what John makes of the Face of Boe thing.

And yay, he says we're going to get more like DW Jack in Torchwood S2. And he's trying to get them to do a musical episode!!!

As for this:

I did a big sequence, and I won't tell you what, with James Marsters, who played Spike on Buffy. He's in one of the episodes of Torchwood in Series Two, and we filmed this big sequence that was 12 hours of the most enduring physical stuff that I have ever done. The fans of the show are going to love it because it's got sex and violence and, at the end of it, you're going to have to go finish yourselves off, so to speak, because it's so horny, it's not even funny.

Well. All I can say is, Bloody hell! 12 hours, eh???? *g*

How long is it till January?

Presumedly the Face of Boe thing was what John was squeeing over with David during the filming of DW S3... if so then he actually likes the idea *shudder*

sigh... John and James...sex and violence... it boggles the mind...

I can't find the interview where JB talks about it, but if I remember David asks him if he'd read the whole script yet, because there was something huge at the end and when John finally does read it he runs screaming into David's trailer yelling "OMG!!!!" or something like that.

The interview first came out before "LOTTL" aired, but bits of it have shown up here and there since.

I keep hoping it was all supposed to be a horrible joke gone wrong....

(And I've been avoiding S2 spoilers too *g*)

Oh god, it's a horrible idea. My vain hope is that RTD himself backpeddled furiously about it. According to the commentary available on the BBC website on the episode he makes light of it, but Julie Gardner tries to get him to admit he intended it to be 100% true when he wrote it but he hems and haws about it.

Personally, the scene is just one of those scenes that violates canon in so many ways and just goes against several facts stated in Utopia that I'm assuming its a joke.

He's FAR to sexy to end up a asexual head in a jar.

Not sad at all. I'm all for the character to grow and evolve, but that kind of evolution I can do without.

Then there's the little matter that it makes NO sense. He's a fact, a fixed point in time and space. He can't die... yet he does? He just feels wrong, yet The Doctor meets up with FOB several times and never feels anything out of the ordinary?

grrr.... not going to think of that... need pretty picture....
