Commentary Meme

I've been resisting doing this meme because I was going to do commentaries on other people's stories instead for the DVD Commentary challenge. But since I don't seem to have got round to choosing any stories for that yet, I'll offer to write them on my own stories instead, if people will just pick them for me!

(Of course, I'd still love anyone to do a commentary on one of my stories if they want to!)

Earthshock

Just watched Earthshock and wow. I thought my crush on Peter Davison's Doctor (my first crush - I was nine when he became the Doctor and I already liked him All Creatures Great and Small and a children's programme he presented before that) was just because he was the first cute guy I really saw on tv. I was wrong. He was hot. The Fifth Doctor was really, really hot.

Guh.

(Yes, I know this isn't news to most of you, but it's news to me, okay?)

Apart from that, I liked Adric, whom I always used to find annoying. This time, it was Nyssa and Tegan who annoyed me because really, apart from the odd bit of getting caught and screaming, what were they there for? Okay, Tegan's got guts and I don't mind her so much, by Nyssa just seems completely characterless!

On the other hand, Adric was cute, clever and brave, and there's a great dynamic between him the Doctor.

As for the serial itself... very slow to start off with, but the last episode was really tense and had amazing pace for a 1980s BBC show and definitely made up for it. This was a good one! :-)
