I have just spent a very enjoyable evening planning out my Christmas dinner and baking - what to cook, and listing the ingredients in a table so I can sort it and know how much of everything I need to buy.

I therefore know that I'm going to need at least 675g (1.5 lb) of butter, 600g (1.3 lb) caster sugar, 9 eggs, 700g (1.5 lb) of plain flour and 600 ml (1 pint) of double cream! Pretty scary amounts!

I haven't sorted out the nibbles for Christmas Day yet, but I think I've done everything else. Which is a huge relief! :-)
