Um. Can I go with the really obvious and say the Face of Boe thing?
Or maybe just a more general change: that RTD gets himself some betas (I'd volunteer) and stops contradicting himself!

Ever had a plot bunny you tried and tried to write and just couldn't?

I think it's more a case of not even attempting to write things...

About the nearest I can get is when I put off trying to write slash. Hell, I put off reading it when I first discovered fanfic because the idea of two guys together - urgh! And then I read a couple of Spike/Angel fics and discovered the fun of reading about two sexy guys at once.
And I was writing something really long (still am!) and suddenly I saw I could do slash with that too. But I put off writing it for about three or four months before I finally felt confident that it was sexy and not gross, and not wrong... And once I'd written it, it came out fine, and I went on writing it and, as I said, it's still ongoing. :-)

Okay, I'll bite...
Yes, he's had a year, in TYTNW, to think about them... but I would have thought that that would have just convinced Jack even more to travel with the Doctor for a while/get a lift to somewhere else, to do something else.
Re: Okay, I'll bite...
I suppose we can hope for it to be explained a little more in Torchwood, but I doubt we'll get it.
I did like this explanation, though.
Though I personally still can't see any reason why he shouldn't travel with the Doctor for a hundred years or so and then get dropped off back in Cardiff as if nothing had happened.
Maybe Ianto is just a really amazing shag. Though I really don't know what Jack (and the fangirls) see in him. :-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's going, 'does not compute, does not compute, does not compute...'
Heh, that's one of the stories I have to catch up on (from g_c). Thanks. :)

Yes! Exactly!! Or maybe even a 'Hey, give me a way to reach you, and I'll call you when I want a vacation,' from Jack to the Doctor (to explain him dealing with T3, then when they bug him too much, he can go for a trip).
Here's irony (well, maybe that's not the proper usage) for you:

In a 'Who else thinks Gwen Cooper...' [is drop dead gorgeous, when you click on the link on the board) thread... I'm defending Eve Myles and the gap in her teeth. If you ever want to see White, Rich, American, Male Privilege in action, read the posts by herson2004 in that thread.

Heh, he looks good all dressed up. But Jack is still better. *grin*
Re: Okay, I'll bite...
Possibly it's also that he's a little young for me. I'm finding I really prefer the slightly older blokes as I slide gracefully (*g*) into my mid-thirties :-)
And talking of pictures, I now have a new default icon made by
Re: Okay, I'll bite...
Everyone on TW is younger than me, but at least I'm not much older than JB. Ianto's had a good scene or two (taking the people from the 1950s to the supermarket, and good cop/snarky cop routine in "Combat" and in the field in that episode). I'm willing to see if he'll become a character I enjoy.
Kudos to

She is multi-talented. She's a fantastic writer, and she makes fantastic icons!
The only problem with this one is that I might find myself licking my computer screen if I'm not careful! *g*
