Okay, Andy's hopefully going to get me set up on the internet via his phone tonight, but we're currently sharing a half hour's wi-fi in the coffee shop with our lunch, so I won't be here long! I can however peruse my flist via his phone, which is useful.

Norfolk Holiday – Day One

We actually set off at the time we aimed for – noon – and had our first stop at Asda on the Norwich ring road (yes, very exciting! *g*) for sandwiches, caffeine and potty stop. Our route then took us via Cromer on the coast and because I'd (stupidly) told Jack we'd be going to the seaside at some point this week, we stopped off there so he could see the sea and went for a lovely little walk along the cliff-top. There was this little ridge to walk along and molehills to stamp on and he actually walked probably something like 3/4 of a mile! It was tremendous fun and I got a bit teary because it was exactly the sort of thing I'd always imagined doing with a child. And the sun had come out as well and it was really pretty.

From there it was only a short drive to Kelling Heath, where we're staying, and we arrived about 4.30, which was pretty good timing with all those stops! I have never ever stayed in a holiday park before so I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but our 'woodland lodge' is nice, if rather dark – being, you know, in a wood. But the lounge is very cosy and has a nice big square bit of floor for Jack to play on, and a nice big dining table for our two laptops and Andy's (music) keyboard. Oh, and occasional meals. *g* And the bedrooms are equally cosy and the beds comfy, though the wardrobes are annoying because the sliding doors don't open far enough. We're also rather overlooked, though the trees and scrub do help with that a little.

We're right near the centre with the shop, bar, coffee shop play area etc. too, which is very convenient.

Anyway, on arrival I stuck the oven on for our shepherd's pies, then we unpacked while they were cooking, then ate. Then Jack wanted a bath so Andy gave him that while I used his mobile, which has internet access, to update here because it turned out the wi-fi was only in the bar/coffee shop and not in the lodges. (I had asked him to check that before hand, but he hadn't…)

Jack was knackered because he'd only slept for 20 minutes on the way up and had done a lot of excited running about – he loves our 'new' home! – so he actually asked to go to bed about 7.45. He's got a proper big bed here, of course, though we've brought the bed guard along from home, and he's got a pillow and a duvet, which he hasn't at home (mainly because I have yet to find a toddler-bed-sized duvet!) and he curled up all cozy and was asleep by 8.00!

Andy did some music on his keyboard then watched some telly; I sat and read and finished off the book I'd started over a year ago last year on holiday (i.e. the last time I was without the internet *g*) and by 9.45, I was in bed too. I didn't exactly sleep straight through – there was a lot of dreaming, and a nappy change – but I did doze pretty heavily even when I wasn't really asleep, and Jack amazingly slept until our estate agent rang up at 8.30! So Jack had nearly 13 hours in bed and I had nearly 11! Even Andy had 10!

Norfolk Holiday – Day Two

Lazy getting-up, then breakfast, and writing this up. Then we traipsed around the area trying to find the playground and eventually found it, but it's really for older children than Jack. We're now in the bar/coffee shop for lunch so I can update my journal and then we need a few things from the shop. And since Jack won't be needing a nap after all that sleep, we're then going to go out somewhere this afternoon!

I miss you all like crazy, but it is kind of nice just relaxing without the call of the Internet too!

And I'll hopefully be around this evening.

I've also just posted a birthday fic for [livejournal.com profile] sistercarrion over at my fic journal - here.

Thanks, I love Pocoyo :D

Oh my... waht does that cat think it's going to do?!
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 02:30 pm (UTC)
Will I get hit if I admit to not having a clue what that is?

... Staring at the fish? Aaaaaaaall day long. And looking damn cute while doing so. I'm sure that's the only thing on the cat's mind. Really.

Not knowing what Pocoyo is? No you won't get hit - no-one knows who/what it is.

Pocoyo cartoon show, made for very young children, voiced by Stephen Fry. I fell totally in love with it when I was laid up in bed with a bad back.

That looks pretty adorable. Am I going to get hit for not admitting who Stephen Fry is? *sheepish*

I forgot you weren't actually English...
Have you heard of the tv show called QI?
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 02:58 pm (UTC)
I'm going to take that as a compliment?!

Someone might have mentioned it once or twice, but... I haven't got a clue what it is about. So, no. Not really.
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 03:04 pm (UTC)
Yes you can take that as a compliment :D

Stephen Fry is a very popular *very English*, Englishman. He's a bit of an eccentric and very funny in his own particular way. And not the first person you would associate with small children :D

Oh, yay! \o/ *beams*

I shall hit up youtube for Stephen Fry and this Pocoyo stuff. Because I'm bored anyway. Also, hi! Nice to babble at you again!

You'll definitely find QI on Youtube and maybe some Stephen in old 'Fry and Laurie' comedy stuff too :D

been nice babbling :D
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 03:12 pm (UTC)

Yes yes indeed!
