I'm quite proud of myself for turning out two drabbles in two days, so here they are:

Here he stands before the one man in the universe, in all of time, who could tell him once and for all what the hell happened, back on the Game Station. How he’s alive, why he was left, what is he now? He’s wanted to know for so long, sure that once he’s back with the Doctor, once he knows, he can slot back into his old place in the TARDIS and everything will be like it was before.
The Doctor tells him, and he realises he was wrong. Nothing is like it was before.
He wishes he didn’t know.
Bring It On
'Bring. It. On'.
It’s been Jack’s philosophy since long before the Doctor met him, and it’s what the Doctor loves most about him. His zest for life. 140 years living in the slow-lane haven’t dampened it one bit. Jack is just about the most alive person the Doctor has ever known.
Whatever life throws at him – and it’s thrown a lot – Jack meets it with a grin and open arms. And it never, ever gets him down.
And if he sometimes despairs, he doesn’t let it show.
The Doctor often has to fake his own cheeriness. Jack doesn’t need to.

That's a beautiful summation of why I hurt so much for TW Jack every time he mentions the Doctor. And then you twist the knife, as you must, because no, it's not going to be that easy and it's not the answer he wants.
The second one captures the Jack the Doctor sees so very well. ::is filled with Captain Jack love::

It's my first show with this drama group and I'm just in the chorus, but that's fine because it's the first thing I've done since Jack was born and it means I don't have to go to every rehearsal. But I'm really, really enjoying it when I am there. I'd forgotten, in just two years, just how much I love being on stage. It's like... well, it's like the surge of happiness I'm getting every time someone says something nice about my stories! :-)
