What the hell was that?

Yeah, yeah, some great bits and lovely to see all the different organisations working together as they should do (and should have been doing) but... Seeing TW on DW just felt wrong. As for Sarah-Jane, yeah, great, but some of us don't actually watch that. I never got the impression I was supposed to have watched it to make my weekly DW make sense!

And Rose. I'm sorry, I'm trying to like her (and for what it's worth, I like her in Whoville, played by two people who can do her justice) but no. Sorry. Bleurgh.

Um. Yeah. What I was trying to say was, yeah, great to have Jack, Martha and Rose back and teaming up with Donna and the Doctor, but I actually watch DW for the Doctor, and with hardly any of him in last week's episode and having to share the time with everyone else in this weeks? It got me a bit annoyed. I expect it'll be a bit better next week with everyone together (I assume SJ and Martha will join them at some point) and therefore not having to divide the time between each set of people.

Also: Daleks. Oh FFS. AGAIN?????? I know the Daleks are cool, but seriously, can't they even go one season without them?

On the other hand: Davros!!!!!! Yay! :-)

Also: Jack/Sarah Jane = fantastic. Oh, and Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister. Yay!

You know, while they're having such fun bringing everybody bar the Cybermen back (maybe they'll turn up next week?), I'm quite surprised they didn't bring back the Master to make a full set...

Also: regeneration???????????????????????

ETA: Please don't spoil me for next week!

Jack/Sarah-Jane > Everything

Oh how I've missed him. It's not as awesome as Utopia, but close

It feels like several different shows are mixing up, I agree that it feels quite weird. But I loved seeing a bit of the DW!Jack again, after his emoness in Torchwood

What the hell was that?

Best reaction ever.

Eh, I watched SJA with my kids and didn't think it explained anything that could have been helpful here other than she's got super computer Mr. Smith who's really showy and annoying.

I'm beginning to loathe the Daleks. Before long they're going to show up more in NewWho than they ever did in all of OldWho combined.

ummm... Should Jack be a smidge surprised or happy to see Rose?

Should Jack be a smidge surprised or happy to see Rose?

And vice versa?

True. True.

I was thinking though that in the "Children-in-Need" special (not sure how canon that is) the Doctor tells Rose that Jack's fine and helping rebuild Earth, so while she might have been surprised to see him on the TV link thing with Harriet (which she didn't seem to be, but oh well) it wouldn't have been so OMG as Jack having waited to find her again for a century and then thinking she's dead and then being told she's on alt!earth

Well, if she really believed that Jack was helping rebuild Earth (which I am doubtful about for many reasons, none of which need exploring at this juncture), then she would have thought he was in the year 200,000 or whenever, and shouldn't she be at least a little surprised to see him there?

But she seems to know a whole lot more than she should anyway, so maybe this is just something else related to that.

ah, that's a good point. She had no reaction whatsoever to seeing him on the screen or in person. She just seemed twigged that Donna had replaced her and wondered who the hell Martha was.

I love the fact people on our f-lists have artistic abilities and are willing to share their skill with us

Sunday, June 29th, 2008 03:54 pm (UTC)
Far too many Smiths and Joneses. It's a wee bit silly

YUS. To all of it.

I didn't exactly grow up with Doctor Who, mostly because I couldn't get into it that much. (Probably not enough explody things and guns) So the Daleks don't strike fear into my heart like I suppose they should. (Yet the old school Cylons do still make the 6-year-old in me hide.)
I kept thinking: can't this be resolved with a good old fashioned EM bomb? They're machines, right? But whatever.

Won't someone please think of the Tennant? *wrings hands*
Sunday, June 29th, 2008 04:14 pm (UTC)
GAH. I suppose they were the American version of Daleks. Instead of Exteeermiiinate they said "by your command."

Surely he'll stay! Something's gotta go awry.
Sunday, June 29th, 2008 03:53 pm (UTC)
OMG- 1970's Cylons. Scariest things ever "By you command"

but I digress. EM bomb/pulse. That's brilliant.

I never really liked Kitt from Knight Rider because it had that roving red eye like a Cylon. *shudder* I had one of the big Cylon toys and I used to put it in the closet every night because I was afraid it would come to life and it would get me. But it had that really cool lightup eye that you could move back and forth with a switch on the back of its head.

When it comes to solving problems I go by this: What would Rodney do?
Sunday, June 29th, 2008 04:06 pm (UTC)
oooh, I never had a cylon toy like that!

Following Rodney's example. *nods* very smart. Especially since the typical "let's shoot it with a gun that doesn't seem to affect it" technique isn't working. No matter how many times they try
