Okay, so it's taken me two years and lots of awesome John Simm-ness in other things before I could get to the point where I could read anything remotely resembling Doctor/Master, but now I'm going through the crack_van recs and clicked here 'cause, hey, I know you! :D
And I'm really glad I found this, because I can see the Doctor through all this, just desperate and needy and afraid to hope, and the Master all self-confident and in control. It's heart-breaking to have one last look at him, from the Doctor's perspective. This is the good angst.
