So, last Friday, [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 requested this: I'd love to know what your 'desert island fics/vids/fandom-items' would be. 10 stories, vids, pieces of meta that would sustain you were you to become cut off from the rest of the world. You don't have to explain (unless you want to) but I'd love to know.

It's taken me a while to get my list of ten, and they're all fics (rather than vids etc.) because that's what I'm most into, but I've done it now and am posting it here.

(Listed alphabetically by author, in case you're wondering, because I couldn't decide on an order!)

Change by [livejournal.com profile] becky_writing because it’s hot and something about it just gets to me. I just keep wanting to read it.

Gotcha! by [livejournal.com profile] becky_writing because it’s incredibly powerful and hot (to me, though I know others don’t find it hot) and it sparked some absolutely fascinating onversations.

Naked by [livejournal.com profile] becky_writing because it’s hot and pretty much perfect. One I can read over and over and never get tired of.

Behind Closed Doors by [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt because it’s Giles/Spike in a D/s relationship, and because it’s gorgeous and dark and sexy and I have read it over and over again and still love it.

Old Man series by [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper because I beta’d it and it’s dark and painful and feels incredibly realistic.

The Key by [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 because it's an awesome account of the possible ways Jack's deaths recounted in Utopia. It also sparked several follow-up drabbles, including three by me. :-)

Show and Tell by [livejournal.com profile] mad_jaks because she wrote it as a follow-up to my fic, Lessons Learned and it’s hot and beautiful and wonderful.

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then by [livejournal.com profile] _medley_ because it's Ten/Simm!Master at their best. It's also the story I found [livejournal.com profile] _medley_ by, and I'm so glad I did.

A New Dawn by [livejournal.com profile] omphalos because it’s Master/Doctor with a side of Jack at their best. Brilliant characterisations and a great story, exquisitely told.

Forget by [livejournal.com profile] smithy161 because it's beautiful and its ending is quite possibly the most painful I've ever read, and its sequel Remember because that makes it all right again and is equally beautiful.
