(Huh, I need my 'newly regenerated Ten' icon from RP for this one, really!)
This evening, I actually felt like watching a non-Jack episode for the first time in ages so thought I'd make a start on S2. And I enjoyed this one far more than I remembered.
Billie as Cassandra was hilarious. David Tennant was, if possible, even funnier. And I loved the chemistry between Cassandra (in Rose's body) and the Doctor.
Even if the sappy Rose/Doctor bit at the beginning did make me feel like I wanted to throw up despite my best efforts to be open-minded.
It was interesting watching the Face of Boe bits again in the light of S3. I think I'm gradually (and please don't yell at me,
donutsweeper!) coming round to the idea that he could be Jack in some form. Particularly because of the legends that he'd lived "for billions of years – but that'd be impossible". It just… makes sense. I think I'm sort of open to it being 'proved' either way; I don't mind.
I did wonder what the inhabitants of New Earth were going to make of all those new, barely sentient humans. You can just see them ending up as slave labour or something, can't you? Not entirely sure the Doctor did a great thing by curing and freeing them and then, as usual, skipping away without a thought to the consequences.
Oh, and the obligatory CGI shot of all the cells annoyed me. It really wasn't necessary and it looked crap.
I loved the ending, which I didn't really get the first time round – that that was the last time anyone had called Cassandra beautiful and it turned out to be herself that had told her that. And that she realised it was time to die because she recognised that it had been Chip's body that had told her, and that it had to be soon because he wouldn't live long. How sad, though – that realisation that no-one else would ever call her beautiful again. Can't help feeling sorry for her.
Anyway, it was a nice, light-hearted episode with lots of witty lines and lots of cute, bouncy, young-looking DT. I enjoyed it.

But I shall pout. Just a smidge, from over here in the corner of disbelief

That is if I'm actually believing it; usually I decide it was a joke.
And it may be rather un-pc of me but I love her 'OMG, I'm a chav!'

And... I like that theory on Boe. *g*
