Phew! I think I've finally just about caught up on sleep again! Not a brilliant night but at least I got to bed early (11pm), slept on the sofa so I didn't have to get up when Jack kept wanting to be changed (though I did wake up a bit), and I hadn't had a nap during the day so I did actually sleep. *sighs with relief*
We had a nice family afternoon out yesterday. It was supposed to be a day but we're terrible at getting out of the house so it was an afternoon. We went to our nearest (an hour away) stately home, Audley End - a very nice drive in the sunshine through pretty countryside and a very nice afternoon in the grounds. We didn't actually get into the house, or the 1880s 'servants preparing for their picnic' thing, because we didn't get into the tea room for lunch until after 2pm and then our order got lost so it was after 3 when we got out and then Jack needed a run so we went for a walk round the grounds and then watched the Punch and Judy show at the 'pretend seaside' bit (which also had lots of sand and buckets and spades and deckchairs and ice-creams and outdoor quoits, dominoes, chess etc.) and then realised it was after 4pm and last admissions to the house were at 4. Ah well. We had a good time and Jack loved playing in the sand and it was a very nice afternoon out.
Today is for staying at home and getting on with things, especially in the garden. Oh, and a quick trip to Tescos for groceries.
