Anyone remember Master Plan?

So, I've been reading through some of my old journal entries from those early, fandom-filled days in 2007-8 when I discovered Doctor Who/Torchwood fandom and fanfic and role-playing. It started because I was thinking about Connection (the first fic I ever posted) and then I just... kept on reading. Fascinating looking back on that time, ten years ago!

Reading all that meant reading through all of Master Plan too. And through the two chapters I never posted. The penultimate chapter is all but finished, and may even have been beta'd, but according to the dates on my Word files the last time I opened it was 'way back in 2012, so I honestly can't remember. In any event, though, that chapter (13) looks pretty much finished and postable. And the final part (Chapter 14) is there is structure - it has a beginning and an end and just needs a few bits padding out/finishing off.

And - wait for it - I've just sat here for two hours actually padding those bits out. There really isn't much more to do. I might even be able to do it in the next day or two. (Though I will need to have another look at LotTL for a few details, because it's been a while.)

So. Well. I kind of doubt there's anyone still around who's still watching my journal in the hopes that Master Plan will ever be finished, but if there is... you might be in luck! Tbh, even if no-one else ever reads it, I'd be happy just to have it all here and posted. It's been so close to being finished for something like eight years, and I always meant to finish it, I just never expected it to take so long!

Anyway. I just wanted to put this out there, because I'm really impressed, after the manically busy year I've had and the trouble I've had finding enough of a writing brain to even role-play, that I'm suddenly working on a nine year-old fic, but... I am!

I may even post Chapter 13 some time in the next few hours, because, after all, why the hell not?

More on Master Plan

Okay, so Chapter 13 is ready to go. However, I also found a document I started back in about 2012 which was some work on the early chapters to make them work better with the benefit of hindsight from the later chapters. Also pretty much ready to go.

So I think what I'm going to do is: tomorrow I shall polish and post the revised Chapter 1, and possibly Chapter 2 if I get there. That's all I've worked on and probably all that needs reworking to be honest.

So after that I'll post the never-seen-before Chapter 13. And work on finishing off Chapter 14 and getting that posted too. It will feel brilliant to get that done. It's been eating away at me for *years* that I never posted those last two chapters, even though they were so close to being done!

I'm not even going to try and find anyone to beta it. It might not be as amazing as it would have been with the standard of beta'ing I used to get, but it'll be okay and it'll be done! :-)
