I should have been more worried, shouldn't I? I didn't take that one seriously, because I really didn't think they'd go for someone young and pretty again. I mean, he's far too similar to DT, isn't he?

Huh. I was looking forward to someone older and more interesting. It's sad they obviously feel they have to continue with young and pretty to keep their teenage girls fanbase. :-(

I have to admit, I'm glad I'm not really invested in the fandom. I'm content to sit and wait and see how it works out

Oh, was that announced that far in advance? I wasn't remotely in the fandom at the time, I watched them as they aired in the US, so I suppose I was WAY behind the curve

Oh interesting. I know RTD said in one of the commentaries that he had hoped Nine was going to be longer and originally Jack would be in S2 too, but when Chris left he had to write off Jack to let Rose go through the proper emotions. So many he'd signed for one year, but there was the assumption he'd then sign on longer but didn't?

Maybe. It might have been that he didn't decide till after they'd finished filming, but before they aired it, or something? I really can't remember.

Absolutely!

I'm super glad over certain things (he's MALE for one) but in general, I'm willing to sit back and wait. Although I am glad I don't have any DW comms on my flist right about now.

What about you?

I only have New Who, and they're pretty reticent. I don't have any of the classic Who comms because they're just too busy, clog up my flist. Tbh, I get most of the news from the flist anyway.

Re. the glad thing... I'm not sure. Disregarding the really silly rumours (e.g. Billie), this is about the worst choice from the choices I'd seen, as far as I'm concerned.

I saw rumors of it Eleven being a woman and the black guy from POTW (who played the winning contestant on 'weakest link') and being Simm. All three were REALLY bad ideas in my mind.

this young and this pretty and this similar to DT are all strikes against this guy though.

Paterson Joseph (the black guy) would have been fine, in my book.

And YEAH.

I don't like the idea of an actor being on DW before being the Doctor (yes, I know Six was). And I have the niggling issue of wondering why other planets would have a brake down of races similar to Earth

And Romana deliberately regenerated into the image of a woman previously on the show. Heh.

What, you mean black Gallifreyans? I suppose they could get round that by him having to fit in on Earth now, or something.
