I should have been more worried, shouldn't I? I didn't take that one seriously, because I really didn't think they'd go for someone young and pretty again. I mean, he's far too similar to DT, isn't he?

Huh. I was looking forward to someone older and more interesting. It's sad they obviously feel they have to continue with young and pretty to keep their teenage girls fanbase. :-(

Tbh, cheekbones don't really do it for me. It's probably why I resisted Spike for so long. I like people who look a bit less... fragile?

and there's some weird Doctor with older Companions dynamic that's going to come into play. It worked okay with Donna and Jack being older than Ten (Or I suppose I should use actor names) but it'll be reaching having companions now being older than the Doctor because they'll be so much older

Of course, it could be really really interesting because he looks like he's about 12 and he'll have a hard time getting people to take him seriously. So if they play *that*? It could be fun.

Matt Smith was in That Face at the Royal Court. According to which review you read the play was the masterpiece of the year or a meandering, disappointing thing.

If he held his own on stage with Lindsay Duncan he'll be fine - though, damn I lament the slant to an ever younger audience.

Piece of useless info... Eleven went to school with Tommy Brockless (off Torchwood) and Neville Longbottom from the HP films. Thanks to my sister for that gem (my eldest nephew went to the same school).

Eldest nephew is at uni now (in Liverpool). I'm looking after his rats while he's gone home to Leeds. They are rather cute, and one of them is called Owen - there is a resemblance too!

Even his housemates think he has a cool aunty. I like this.

I don't so much mind him being young and pretty if he can pull it off well and I'm a total optimist with this sort of thing, so I'm going to imagine that he can. Besides, if he's really that bad, they can replace him year after. Although, his age did inspire this prediction for the next regeneration:

Doctor: How do I look?
Companion: Um... well...
Doctor: What? Wait a minute, what's wrong with my voice? Why is it so high? Are you laughing? Don't laugh, this is very serious!
Companion: Just *snicker* hold on a minute. I'll fetch a mirror.
Doctor: Stop laughing, this is... oh. my. god. I'm... I'm a...
Companion: Teenager! You don't look a day over sixteen!
Doctor: ... Do you have a gun?
Companion: What?
Doctor: Find me a gun, I want a do over.
