February Round-Up

On 1 February I celebrated my first anniversary of getting my LJ. Really can't believe it's been that long already.

It's been a very, very low month for fic. Exactly 150 words posted. There are, however, 3,279 words of the next chapter of Master Plan written. So I haven't just been sitting around idle.

And I've been role-playing like mad. (Not to mention a fair bit of real life stuff!)


I wrote a review of Torchwood 2.4 (Meat) but haven't written anything about the following three episodes. I watched them too late at night and don't feel enthusiastic enough to watch them again, even though I enjoyed them, and just want to let them sit for a while before rewatching and hopefully writing something useful about them. Or maybe I just won't. We'll see.

Yeah. I really must get on with writing again. I can do it if I actually sit down to do it. Sometimes. It's just that most of the time I feel singularly uninspired even when I'm role-playing, but at least then I feel I have to write something to keep it going. And I ought to write like that too.

I don't know about that - when you're in RP at least you've got someone to play off against.
I reckon that if I'm having trouble with fiction and 'force' it what I end up with is junk - and I know there's others that feel the same.

Well, yeah, forcing isn't necessarily good. But just trying to write something is good. You don't get anywhere unless you actually, you know, write... *g*

But yes, the great thing about RP is having someone to play off. That's why it's so blooming addictive. It's so much easier to actually write. But I do miss the editing and finishing off side of writing actual fics.
