Well.

How are you supposed to react to that? I mean, it kind of went:

"Oh, okay, DT's regenerating already, and it's not the end of the episode. Weird.

"Oh, hang on, there's Ncuti too?

"Cool!

"Ooh, I like Fifteen!

"But hang on, Fourteen's still here? And apparently not going anywhere?

"Weird."


I'm really not sure how I feel about that. I have *loved* DT as Fourteen but I was prepared for it only to be for three episodes and now... what? He's going to be the Doctor FOR EVER AND EVER? Are Disney planning a Fourteen spin-off series? I can't help feeling that detracts from poor Fifteen actually getting to be THE Doctor.

Also, Donna gets a c&p Doctor just like Rose did? No, I'm sorry, that wasn't even a good ending the first time around.

Hmm.

Sleep now. See how I feel about it all in the morning!

Oo, I didn't actually say it in my own review, but I really like Fifteen as well. And I didn't think that it was *Disney* that asked for Fourteen to stick around for a spin-off. I posited that it was the BBC that said so, but Disney is a lot more likely. Though I think if they do try to do a spin-off with Fourteen, it'll be in a totally different direction, maybe more of an SJA-like thing on Earth, specifically to not detract from Fifteen.

Though I feel that Fourteen got a feel-good ending like Rose did in JE, I don't feel like he's Donna's consolation prize like Meta was for Rose. This one's centered on Fourteen, not on Donna.

Heh, well perhaps a combination of both BBC and Disney? I think it's mainly the vast universe of spinoffs that Disney has created for Marvel that's making me expect that for DW too.

I saw someone suggest that Fourteen might turn up in the UNIT spinoff that's apparently happening, which seems to make a lot of sense given that Donna's just accepted a job with them...

And yes, you're totally right about Rose vs Donna, of course. It's definitely that this is more for him than Donna, though Donna has been pretty explicit about wanting to be with him too. :-)

Yeah. Well, we shall see, I guess! I have to say, from first impressions, Ncuti Gatwa has plenty of personality and magnetism to put his own stamp on the role and doesn't seem likely to be easily overshadowed, even by David Tennant! :-D
