I should have been more worried, shouldn't I? I didn't take that one seriously, because I really didn't think they'd go for someone young and pretty again. I mean, he's far too similar to DT, isn't he?

Huh. I was looking forward to someone older and more interesting. It's sad they obviously feel they have to continue with young and pretty to keep their teenage girls fanbase. :-(

Yeah. If he can pull it off, it'll be fine. I just wish I'd seen him in something that could convince me of that.

(I did see the Ruby in the Smoke but I don't remember him in it, which kind of speaks for itself...)

He's almost young enough to legally be my child! Now that is scary. The thought of being old enough to be the Doctor's *mother* is seven kinds of weird and not all of them are good!

I wanted A.) a woman or B.) a man, but older. And not particularly "cute" either.

Realizing of course that choice A would have freaked a lot of people out.

Yeah, I have to say, they'd have had to have chosen VERY carefully to find a woman who could pull it off. Someone like, say, Kate Mulgrew (but British, obviously), would just about work for me.

But even then, yeah, I'd definitely have wanted someone older. As a contrast to Ten.

*eyes your icon* God, yeah. I remember when they first started talking about remaking DW, I was all "Tony Head! Tony Head! Please! Tony Head!"

And then they started talking about him playing the Master at one point too, iirc. Instead, we just got one episode in which he did not look particularly sexy. :-(
