Michael Sheen and Nye (National Theatre Live)
Just watched this from the comfort of our local Everyman Cinema and wow, that was amazing.
My 18 year-old son (who's just finishing A Level drama and is off to university in the autumn to study musical theatre) said it was the best thing he's ever seen and I have to agree it was pretty damn awesome. Minimal and inventive staging (hospital beds being used as everything from library shelves to doors to desks) and an incredibly hard-working cast who each played huge amounts of very different characters with great success, and of course an absolutely adorable performance from Michael Sheen.
A very, very good night out. :-)
Not bad for a man in his jim-jams. (And hey, having watched The Christmas Invasion recently, I can't help imagining Michael and David having all these conversations about acting in their pyjamas!)
