Is it wrong that I was a little bit sad when O turned out to be the Master, though? I can't remember *ever* being disappointed to see the Master before, but I really *liked* him as O! Still, we'll see. At least it'll be interesting!

I quite liked him as O too. But then I've never been a particularly big fan of The Master.

Heh, I became a *big* Doctor/Master fan during the end of S3, and again with Twelve and Missy - though it did take time for Missy to grow on me and I expect this Master will also grow on me with time. They usually do!

But I would have liked a little more sophisticated, more Delgado, Master if we're going to have a new one, whereas this one so far seems even more batshit than Simm. Still, as I say, we shall see!

I didn't watch any of 12's episodes, so I don't really know Missy at all. My main exposure was John Simm :)

If you can, I would advise you to watch Twelve's seasons. Capaldi is AWESOME (totally my favourite Doctor since Nine) and Missy acting against him was incredible. Two amazing actors with fantastic chemistry. Twelve took a while to get going, but his last series, with Pearl Mackie, was absolutely brilliant. :-)

I just couldn't get into his episodes. But then I'd started getting bored of 11's episodes as well by the end.

She really is! But I'll give him a chance. It would certainly be different going into the ep knowing who he's going to be - looking forward to rewatching! :-)

Yeah, I got really tired of Eleven too, and it did take me a while (like until his second season) to warm properly to Twelve. It took him a while to work out who he was, but once he did, I loved him. Might be worth a second try? His second season was a lot stronger than his first, and his third, as I said, I thought was terrific!

I'll pop it back in my Netflix queue and give it a try again, once I'm done with Star Trek:) (unless, of course, something else turns up and hooks me - you know what it's like!)

O being the Master truly surprised me, wow! I have no idea how he can possibly live up to the brilliance that was Missy, but it'll be interesting anyway.

Yes, I am definitely intrigued, and obviously willing to give him a chance. I just hope he brings something new to the role and not just be a repeat of the simply batshit Simm!Master. Don't get me wrong, I loved Simm, even in The End of Time, but Missy was so much more nuanced and intriguing, whilst also being batshit!
