Title: Twists and Bends
Original story: No Exit (Everybody Lives) by [livejournal.com profile] bagheera_san
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: Tenth Doctor/Simm!Master
Rating: R
Word Count: 1146
Spoilers: End of Season 3 (NB the original story has slight spoilers for the end of Season 4)
Disclaimer: Not mine
Summary: With the Doctor apparently coming round to his way of thinking, the Master reflects, and celebrates.
Beta: The everlastingly wonderful [livejournal.com profile] mad_jaks
Author's Note: Written for the fic remix at [livejournal.com profile] best_enemies. This is the twist I kind of expected when I first read [livejournal.com profile] bagheera_san's story. (Not that her story needs it; it's excellent as it is. It's just that this is where my mind went as I read it!) It's not so much a remix as a tag to the original story and follows on immediately from where the original left off.

This is what came about last Friday at work while I was mulling over different scenarios for what the various characters had been upto behind the scenes of Master Plan (i.e. outside the Master's knowledge). It's not part of Master Plan, though.

And so, at long, long last, it's the moment you've all be waiting for (if only because you're bored to tears with me going on about this fic)! :-)

I have to say, I'm glad I didn't give up on it, because I'm bloody proud of it now. Massive thanks to everyone who's given me encouragement and confidence over the last couple of weeks!

Title: After the War
Fandom: Doctor Who
Author: [livejournal.com profile] unfeathered
Pairing: Ninth Doctor/Simm!Master (AU)
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: dub-con, bondage, whipping
Word Count: 5,911
Spoilers: Up to Last of the Time Lords for character, if not canon
Disclaimer: Not mine
Summary: Actually, I think the prompt (see below) says it all.
Betas: The amazingly patient and helpful [livejournal.com profile] mad_jaks and [livejournal.com profile] sistercarrion. I would have given up on this fic several times if it hadn't been for them. I'd also like to thank my flist for general bdsm advice and for putting up with me wittering on and on about this fic as I was writing it.
Author's Note: Written for Round Ten of [livejournal.com profile] rounds_of_kink for the prompt:
Doctor Who, Master/Doctor – What if the Year the Never Was truly never was, and instead the Master focused his attentions on the wreck of the Doctor he's found post-Time War; a Doctor who is very eager to be at his whim so long as he isn't alone. To include coercion, bondage, dirty-talk.

Okay, it's a long time since I've watched Last of the Time Lords (will try and have a look tonight) but I just got thinking: when they reversed the paradox, everything on the earth got reversed but the Valiant didn't, right? So what happened to those people who were on the Valiant right before the paradox kicked in - all the film crews and world leaders or whoever they were? I know the President got zapped and so there wasn't a body (right?), but there were other people present at that point who didn't suddenly appear on the bridge of the Valiant when time was reversed.

So where did they go?

And no, I'm not expecting an actual canon explanation for this, because they don't think things through that thoroughly, but can anyone suggest something that makes sense? At the moment, all I can imagine is them somehow popping up at their homes or something, going "Whu....?"

It's not a very happy birthday fic, I'm afraid, but it's very definitely inspired by you... :-)

Hope you have a brilliant day!

So, I wrote another 150 or so words of Master Plan at work today, and finally - finally - sorted out the couple of things I had left to work out. Most notably, I've finally worked out my take on the 'refusing to regenerate and getting Lucy to shoot him as his back-up plan' thing. This is something I have been trying to work out ever since I started RPing the Master (because I'm pretty sure it hadn't come up till then), which was the middle of December last year. So, eleven months, then. At least I've finally made it!

And so I have made some notes of things I want to include in this chapter so I now have a very, very loose plan for the shape of it. And I think there'll only need to be one more after that. I'm still working out exactly how I want it to end, because I'd always planned to work back to canon (i.e. Last of the Time Lords) but I need to decide how much of the stuff in that episode I'm going to recount. Don't want it to be a boring final chapter!

Anyway, I really feel that I'm getting there now. It's... a hell of a relief!

I just watched Utopia for the first time in quite a while (along with its commentary, for the first time) and something struck me.

Yana tells Doctor he has the sound of drums in his head. The Doctor, without blinking or any reaction whatsoever just asks him when it started.

Now, if the Master had had drums in his head BEFORE (his resurrection and/or the destruction of Gallifrey, whichever you choose as the point when they started) wouldn't the Doctor react at least a bit to this? Shouldn't we be given at least one little glimpse of him wondering? Yes, he thinks the Master is dead so he's really not expecting Yana to be the Master and I wouldn't really expect him to leap up and go, "Hey, I used to know someone who heard drums - OMG, you're the Master!" but if it meant anything to him at all, surely there should have been a bit of a reaction, however small?

Does anyone else feel really silly and innuendo-ey every time they mention the Master (or the Doctor) getting out their screwdriver, or holding their screwdriver, or, really, doing anything with their screwdriver?

No? Just me then, eh. *g*

Do we have any idea, in canon? From the way he and the Doctor always seem to be on the same timeline, and the fact they were children together, it seems to be a reasonable assumption that he's the same age as the Doctor - but I can't find anything that says anything about his age!

(And no, this thought was not inspired by me trying to put together a profile of the Master so I can join in Becky's RP game. Not at all. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME!

Yeah. Tell that to the Master. *g*)

So I put Jack (son) down for his nap, sat down at my computer, decided to be ruthless and cut out the (tiny) bit that was giving me grief and just started to write.

Two hours later, I've written 1434 words and have got to the end of Chapter 7, barring the coda.

I still have the very end to write, and a few little bits for the middle, and a few gaps to fill in and order of stuff to sort out. But considering how long I've been trying to write this bit, this is amazing! I'm so relieved and excited and loving my story again.

Oh, and if anybody doesn't find this stuff hot, I'm personally killing them. *g*

I was complimenting [livejournal.com profile] _medley_ last night (here) on the way she gets the Master and the Doctor talking so realistically and so entertainingly, and the fact that I can't seem to get them talking for long.

And I had a think about that, and I did actually write a few conversations I was pretty proud of in the earlier parts of Master Plan. The problem is, now the Master has de-aged the Doctor, all he wants to do is flirt with him. And get in his pants.

I don't know how much of that is the Master and how much of it is just me! *g*

...to his Christmas party?

I want to get him out of his standard black suit and into something a bit more festive, but I'm not sure what.

All I've come up with so far is a silk shirt (though I don't know what colour - red? Grey? Purple?) and tight shiny black trousers. But then I thought that made him sound like a gypsy. So I don't know. Men are so much more difficult to dress up than women!

I do need there to be tight trousers, though. I have the Doctor (and Jack!) checking out his bum in them. *g*

Any thoughts, oh helpful flist?

I've just worked it out. The reason there (apparently) weren't any escape attempts from the gang on the Valiant for a whole year until the very day before the Master's launch day is that they weren't trying to escape. The Doctor had told Martha to 'use the countdown' - because she needed time to spread the word, and one specific moment for everyone to think of the Doctor - and until then, or nearly then, there was absolutely no point in trying to bring down the Master.

Probably this was blindingly obvious to everyone else and I'm just being really slow.

Mind you, they could have thrown in a few 'fake' attempted escapes, to keep the Master occupied.
